Last August, I won a 7 night MSC cruise simply by submitting my e-mail address to Condé Nast Traveller magazine. Having a year to take my prize, I chose to go in June around this Western Mediterranean to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We had a fabulous week staying in the Yacht Club which only had 70 cabins and exclusive decks, pools and restaurants. This was much appreciated as the cruise had 4,000 passengers.
Waiting at Genoa airport to return home, we got chatting to Alan Fairfax from Silver Travel Advisor (a similar forum to Trip Advisor but who also provide personal advice for ‘mature’ travellers). He encouraged me to use the forum and post reviews to win prizes. I wrote a review of the cruise and was delighted to find it had won a July review of the day: my prize a lovely guide to wild flowers of Britain and Europe.
