Meet Our Latest Winners!

After a sad September (no wins at all) October began with a win from Lets Knit Magazine. Ten 100g balls of Aran wool worth £47.50. As I knit constantly (in a futile bid to stop me reaching for a glass of wine or junk food!) this was a lovely start to the month.
The Body Shop then came up with a bottle of their new perfume White Musk Smoky Rose.
After reading Di's advice to try the comps needing skill I entered a competition on The Crafty Dwarf's Facebook page to win a bracelet of my own design. I choose the crystals for their health giving properties and their colours - and I won!
I love the ease of entering and tracking the competitions on ThePrizefinder and I have a whole new month to go at!

October was a very slow month for me but I still got a few little wins. I won a dark Kitkat from Love Brands on Facebook, an LED light bulb came through from MagicFreebies spinner, a self tanner came through from the same and I also got a bath book through from Matey. The bath book has come in very useful so far for baby’s bathtime so I’m quite pleased with that one.

I've entered a few effort comps with photos etc lately for a change of luck. I've really enjoyed the challenge, thinking of what to enter and getting out and about too in search of a good pic, so I won't be at all disappointed if nothing comes of my efforts. I am looking forward to seeing the results of some of those comps and hopefully I can be the one back here telling you I've won one of them :)

I've been comping for nearly ten years and have won some really amazing prizes, including a holiday to Benidorm staying in Europe's tallest hotel; £2,500 of lifestyle prizes from REAL magazine, £2,000 of the most popular toys from Bauer Radio and a year's supply of Imperial shower gel to name a few. This has meant that I've been able to treat family and friends to lots of lovely things.

I prefer creative comps where an amount of skills or imagination is required, because it's fun - and can be an ideal way to spend your time on a rainy day!

The photo here is my entry for a competition with Yorkshire tea to win a kettle and a year's supply of teabags (I'm a real tea jenny, so this was an ideal prize for me!) As you can see, my kettle was broken and I was unable to make a brew, hence the sad look! This entry won me a runner's up prize of a year's supply of tea, so I was over the moon!

Comping really is a worthwhile hobby in which the whole family can get involved and enjoy the prizes when they roll in!

Back in the summer we tried to book a holiday cottage at our favourite garden, Aberglasny Gardens in Wales, so that we could meet up with relatives holidaying in the area but the cottages were booked so we had to look elsewhere.

When our daughter arrived home she discovered she had won a week’s holiday in one of the cottages. Being unable to take the week offered she asked if we could use it instead and the organisers agreed. Last month we had a wonderful week there despite some indifferent weather. Free access to the gardens was part of the deal.

Now this month over just two days I started to win back something in return. A cookery book on one day was followed up by a state of the art blender and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Monopoly game the next. Then yesterday a box of posh chocs arrived to round off the package. I do love the give and take that comping allows. Always worth checking that some family member will be able to take advantage of any wins though.

A really great win that arrived just in time for Halloween! I won a party set 'witch' included (ha, see what I did there!) fancy dress, face paints, scary eye patches, table decorations, a huge cauldron and balloons! My children loved it and we had our own little party complete with our pumpkin!

I have been entering competitions through The Prizefinder for about 6 months now and have had a steady stream of prizes landing on my doorstep. But October has to be the best month yet, only one prize but wow what a win! I received an email and when I clicked on it I was bouncing around my front room in excitement! With big thanks to Marie Clare and Talk Talk I had won 4 VIP tickets to the X Factor! Me and my 3 very excited guests travelled up to London on Saturday and were greeted at the Fountain TV studios (no need to queue!) Where we were taken to the Talk Talk hospitality lounge for pre-show nibbles and drinks. We were lucky enough to meet some of the contestants backstage, Sam Bailey was particularly lovely (even if she was struggling to breathe in her amazing dress!) Then on to watch the live show! Was fab to see what really goes on during the live show. After watching the filming of the Xtra Factor we were taken backstage again for more nibbles and drinks and to collect our goodie bag!! A truly amazing and unforgettable night was had by all! Thank you to everyone here for making all our fabulous wins possible....can't wait to see what's next!!

I have been comping for a while, and have had some great wins!

One of my favourite wins for October has been a family ticket to the Twinlakes theme park - it will be a perfect gift for my nephew!

I also won a Palmers goodie bag, £35 in Amazon vouchers, tickets and a case of biscuits!

October has been my best month yet, with 7 wins including McCain oven chips, £250 to spend at Ollie and Nic, some travel books, a rugby shirt and tickets to see Twelfth Night with full 3 course meal before the show at my local theatre.

We had a great night and shared tapas dishes with a bottle of wine before watching one of the best Shakespeare interpretations I've ever seen. Here's a photo of our yummy food!

I've been comping now for about 18 months and have to say it's the best hobby ever! It's allowed me to experience things I would never have done had it not been for entering competitions. My most recent win was a year's supply of Taylors coffee which I won through Twitter and was expecting maybe 12 packets, one for each month. However, a courier arrived with a huge box containing 54 large bags of filter coffee! My best win has to be a cocktail masterclass for me and my friends that I won through the Theprizefinder with Jamaica ting. I kept putting off arranging a date to do it but I eventually did and it was amazing! Rum cocktails galore! We all had such a fantastic evening learning about cocktails and even got to make them ourselves! One of the best evenings ever!
