Share Your January Wins

Hello everyone!  How is your week going, any nice wins to report?  Well here we are in a brand new comping year – happy 2017 everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year build up with your friends and family, and managed to get some good comping time in where possible too.  Christmas already feels like ages ago for me and he children even go back to school on Tuesday – mixed emotions as always but I think I am glad about it!

So, how were the advents for you?  Did you manage to win anything nice – big, small, instant wins, or nothing at all?  I know a lot of friends had mixed results from the advents this year – some winning incredibly well and often, and some winning absolutely nothing at all over the period.  As you may remember we were away in Lapland during the middle of December so I spent most of the month working and not really much time on comping this year – boo!  I did however manage to win five prizes during December, four of which were advent wins and all small!

• Bundle of goodies, from a local Taunton Facebook page’s advent comp
• A Leapfrog Disney Frozen game, from their Facebook comp

As you can see I wasn’t a prolific advent comper at all this year, but I am happy with my wins.  I will use the Bobs Books vouchers to get some nice calendars and wall art and the bundle of goodies from the local page contained some treats such as chocolate, a diary, a useful tote bag and lots of lovely stationery.

2016 Hasn’t been a very consistent or successful one for me in terms of comping – way down on where it has been the last few years.  During 2015 I managed to win a total of 131 prizes with a combined value of £3,200, whereas in 2016 I only bagged 59 prizes with a combined total of approximately £900!  I know seasoned compers are winning waaaaaay more than me, and I blame my lack of success this year on too much work and too many holidays lol!

Let’s take a quick look at what some of our lovely members have been winning during December 2016:

Villagefox was, like most of us, busy during December but still managed to win lots of goodies including a gingerbread house kit from Jet2 on Twitter, a selection of DVDs from a  blog comp and a family pantomime ticket from a local comp!  Hamish666 had some lovely wins this month including a fabulous Scalextric set from the Win Christmas website and a children’s DVD and pop-up book from some blog comps, and Nikkiscottwins had a great prize win of a £250 Amazon Voucher from the #ChristmasCovered comp.  Mapleacorn started the month well by winning a £100 Boux Avenue gift card, leather wallets worth £160 and a manicure at a local salon, and then went on to win a nail care set, a selection of furniture and a Hotel Chocolat hamper to name but a few – what a fabulous haul, well done!  Szekeres101 had a good December too winning a £10 Cley Designs voucher and a £100 Wilko voucher, and Buddie continued their great winning streak of winning at least one prize every month for the whole of 2016 by winning an Um Bungo voucher in their Facebook comp!  AmandaH won a fabulous £500 Cadbury hamper from the Nisa Twitter comp, and Joan’s husband continued doing well by winning a luggage stand, cotton dressing gowns and £50 of healthy eating utensils.  Kayaaaa had a brilliant month winning such goodies as phones cases, a cocktail set, a Starbucks gift card, Amazon vouchers and an all-expenses paid trip to New Zealand – wowzas!  

So, what’s on your comping wish list for 2017?  Now is a good time to take stock of what you have won this year and get organised for what you would like to try and win next year.  For me I am still on the hunt for a holiday or short break win, as I don’t think we will be able to afford a summer holiday this year.  I am also keen to win prizes for my children’s birthday and Christmas too – My Little Pony, Harry Potter, Shopkins etc.  And of course cash is always a lovely thing to win, so I will continue to try and win some of that too!
