Prize Draw Terms and Conditions 

The Promoter is set out at the end of these Terms and Conditions.

WHO CAN ENTER

This prize draw is open, subject to any other qualifications in these terms and conditions, to all residents of the United Kingdom who are aged 18 years or over with a valid email address, except for employees of the Promoter, its associated companies, agents, third parties or anyone else professionally connected with this prize draw. Proof of age may be required.

By submitting a prize draw entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. The instructions provided at the point of entry form part of the terms and conditions of this prize draw. In the event of a conflict, these terms and conditions take precedence. 

To enter the prize draw you must have an active MyWaitrose membership.

1.4 No purchase necessary. There is no charge to submit an entry via the website at waitrose.com/ecom/content/competitions. 

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES

Entries must be received between 00:01 on 1st November 2023 and 23:59 on 28th November 2023 (the “Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, simply go to waitrose.com/ecom/content/competitions, follow the prize draw instructions at the top of the page and submit your details and other required information using the online form provided.

There is a limit of one entry per person. Multiple entries submitted directly or with the use of any automated systems will not be entered into the draw.

No responsibility will be accepted for entries that are lost, delayed, mislaid or damaged in transit, regardless of the cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. 

Those entries not in accordance with the rules will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the prize draw; any entry containing false, incomplete or misleading information will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the prize draw. 

THE PRIZE

The prize is a VIP experience for a winner and their guest at The Nutcracker with the Royal Opera House. There is 1 prize available to be won. The prize is provided by the Royal Opera House. Prize for winner plus guest includes: 

Two best available seat tickets for the Tuesday 19th December 2023 performance of The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House, commencing at 7.30pm.

A two-night stay at NoMad London on the nights of Monday 18th December 2023 and Tuesday 19th December 2023. 

Two tickets for the Royal Opera House Behind the Scenes Tour, taking place on Tuesday 19th December.

Two glasses of champagne or choice of soft drink to be enjoyed at the Nutcracker performance.

Pre-Theatre dinner for two at Piazza Restaurant on the fifth floor of the Royal Opera House.

Two Together Railcard from Railcard.co.uk, offering 1/3 off rail fares across Great Britain.

If the prize winner is unable to attend the Nutcracker performance on 19th December, or if the prize is not redeemed by 23:59 on 14th December 2023, this prize shall be fully redeemable against two tickets to an opera or ballet performed at the Royal Opera House until 31st December 2024, excluding all other performances of the Nutcracker, strictly subject to availability. The other elements of the prize will then be rescheduled once confirmation of the performance date is confirmed with the Royal Opera House Box Office, strictly subject to availability of each prize bundle element.

The specific prize Ts&Cs are as below. 

General terms and conditions: Prize valid for the winner and one companion only. Prize winner must both be residents of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Republic of Ireland and must be aged 18 years or over, companion of prize winner must be 12 years or older. Prize cannot be changed or transferred to any other person. No cash or credit alternatives are available. Subject to availability and blackout dates apply. All elements of the prize are valid for 18th and 19th December 2023, or  until 31st December 2024 if the winner is unable to make the selected dates. The winner may be required to participate in reasonable publicity on behalf of the Royal Opera House and the Promoter. Prize winner must supply all personal details on behalf of themselves and their companion which are required for booking travel, accommodation, and any other prize element. Any failure to do so will mean that Royal Opera House are unable to provide the prize and the winner shall be deemed to have forfeited its right to such prize. Performance terms and conditions: Tickets are subject to the Royal Opera House’s ticketing terms and conditions found here.

Accommodation terms and conditions: Accommodation will be included based on the winner and companion sharing a Superieur room with breakfast included. The stay cannot be redeemable for cash.

Tour terms and conditions: The Royal Opera House is a working theatre and as such tour dates will be limited in order to accommodate performances. Attending a tour is subject to the Royal Opera House’s tour ticketing terms and conditions found here.

Restaurant terms and conditions: The winner and companion will be entitled to a £250 voucher for the evening of 19th December or until 31st December 2024 if the prize is redeemed at a later time. The winner will cover any expenses beyond what is covered by the voucher. 

Travel terms and conditions: The Prize consists of a one-year Two Together Railcard. The winner will be given a 100% discount code to enter at checkout on www.railcard.co.uk to receive the Railcard for free. The Railcard code is valid for redemption until 30 March 2024. The Railcard is for use by the winner and a second named adult on your Railcard when you are travelling together. The two named cardholders must travel together for the entire journey for their discounted tickets to be valid. Full T&Cs available here

Any travel expenses, or any other expenses in the general use of and enjoyment of the prize, that the winners or their guests incur are the sole responsibility of the winners or their guests.

Prizes are subject to availability. They are non-transferable, non-refundable and, unless stated, there are no cash alternatives. In the event that the prize is out of stock or if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control make it necessary to do so, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute another item, in its sole discretion, of equal or higher value. 

WINNER SELECTION

All valid and, if applicable, correct entries received by the Closing Date will be entered into a prize draw, and the winners will be picked at random.  

The winner’s details (surname and county only) will be available for one month after the Closing Date by sending a request to the Promoter by contacting Waitrose Limited, Loyalty Team, Floor 1, Wallace House, Oldbury, Bracknell RG12 8TQ, enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope, or alternatively by emailing customerserviceteam@waitrose.co.uk.

WINNER NOTIFICATION

Winners will be notified by email or phone call as soon as practicable after the prize draw, using the contact details provided with the prize draw entry. The winners will be required to respond within 30 days of notification (unless otherwise stated) confirming their acceptance of the prize. In the event winners do not respond to communications within this period or if any prize is declined, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and draw another winner. 

Please allow 30 days from the date of the winner’s address verification for delivery of the prize.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The Promoter and its associated agencies, companies and distributors will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this prize draw or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including liability for fraud or death or personal injury arising from negligence) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.

If you have opted-in to receive further information or marketing from any of the Promoter’s agents or suppliers involved in the administration of this prize draw, you understand and accept that the relevant third party will be solely responsible for any processing of your personal data for these purposes, that such processing will be governed by terms of that third party’s privacy policy and that the Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability in association with any such data processing for these purposes.  

GENERAL

If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or if the Promoter believes that your conduct may be unlawful or otherwise bring the prize draw into disrepute, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to make your entry void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude you from participating in the prize draw.

The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Promoter reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or amend the prize prize draw where it becomes necessary to do so, with no liability to any entrants or third parties.

This prize draw and all issues arising out of it shall be governed in accordance with English Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
