The undeniably charming Estoril Vintage Hotel is a 1920s palácio-turned-15-room boutique hotel overlooking the Atlantic. It is the Líbano Monteiro family’s home now open to guests following a thoughtful, meticulous restoration.
Everything about the palace epitomises aristocratic glamour and the historic splendour of the Portuguese Riviera. Spacious and light-filled guest rooms and suites vary in size and design with sea-salty air and garden scents wafting in through large French balcony windows. Interior furnishings and fabrics are polished, sophisticated and classical befitting of its grande dame nature. Expect dark-wood antique writing desks, King Louis chairs and long sweeping curtains beneath ornate wood-panelled ceilings in large suites softened by swathes of luxurious fabrics in rich tones of gold, copper and burnt orange. En-suite bathrooms are tiled in traditional azulejos.
