Tuffon Hall is a modern, boutique vineyard in the heart of East Anglia where fellow Spectator susbcriber Angus Crowther and his wife Pod, produce elegant, award-winning wines and craft spirits of the highest standard.
Angus's family have been working the land for four-and-a-half generations, while Castle Hedingham’s wine-growing traditions date back to Norman times. Today wild grapes can still be found in the castle’s grounds. It’s this heritage and provenance, coupled with a forward thinking approach to craftsmanship that makes Tuffon Hall unique.
Grape Gin: Made using the skins from hand-picked Bacchus grapes which are then infused with juniper berries, coriander seeds, fresh orange zest without pith, fresh minneola tangelo (a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit), fresh torn bay leaves and some freshly grated lemon zest. The ingredients are steeped and distilled together in a small batch 200l copper pot gin still.
Sloe Gin: This gin liqueur is made using hand-picked sloe berries from blackthorn hedges on the farm. The sloes are steeped in Bacchus grape gin giving a delicious plummy, tart and sweet taste. Perfect with a generous splash of Tuffon Hall Classic Cuvée English Sparkling wine to produce the most English of ‘sloegasms’.
Toffee Vodka: Tuffon Hall toffee vodka is made using second-pick English grapes, rich in sugary goodness with a touch of caramel. Distilled to produce a divine spirit that is smooth and decadent.
Terms & conditions: The competition closes on 30 April 2024. One subscriber will win three 50cl bottles of Tuffon Hall spirits, one grape gin, one sloe gin and one toffee vodka, to be delivered to a UK address.
