Land this prize and you’ll win a three-course Sunday lunch for two at Cook House. The latest venture from the team behind The Manor in Drighlington, it’s a family-run venue serving locally-sourced food and drink. Their Sunday menu is a popular affair, attracting guests from far and wide for cosy yet refined pub grub. So, what’s on the menu? Kick things off with the likes of salt and pepper squid, chicken liver parfait or soup of the day, then settle in for the main event.

While there’s plenty to choose from on the menu, it’s hard to look past the Sunday roast. Cook House serve theirs traditional style, loaded with all the trimmings. Take your pick from succulent sirloin, juicy pork loin or a homemade nut roast, and it’ll come served with roast and mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, seasonal veg and the best bit – bottomless gravy. If you do fancy something else, the likes of fish and chips, sweet potato curry and a mean ox cheek Cottage Pie await.

Getting full? You better leave room, because the Cook House team sure know their way around a dessert. There’s almond frangipane, poached pear and a delightful chocolate parfait, but our choice is the sticky toffee pudding. Sweet and comforting, it comes served with toffee sauce and Goodalls of Tong vanilla ice cream – made using the milk from dairy cows in the neighbouring fields! Wash it all down with a house bottle of wine to share and you’re good to go.
