WIN! Mother's Day Competition (CLOSED)

Submitted by SuperluckyDi on Mon, 2014-03-10 10:20

Mother's Day is on 30th March this year, and we're already starting to see lots of Mum themed comps appearing. Read on to find out how you could be winning a prize for you AND your mum here on our blog!

Mother's Day is one of those occasions where you see the same style of competition crop up every year - you might need to write a poem about your mum, or share a photo of the two of you. Make sure you save your entry somewhere safe as you may be able to recycle it for a competition next year. If you're pleased with your poem or photo, why not print it off and stick it in your Mother's Day card too?

Here are some of our favourite Mother's Day competitions this year:

  • Tell TK Maxx why you love your Mum on their Facebook post and you could win a £50 voucher (ends 20th March 2014)
  • Win an iPad with Laimon Fresh - find it in your local supermarket, take a Mother's Day themed photo featuring your can or bottle and upload to their Facebook page (ends 30th March 2014)
  • And a few easy entry prize draws:

  • Win tea for two at the Ritz with Treasurebox (ends 30th March 2014
  • Win three months of Bloom & Wild flower deliveries in the Menswearstyle prize draw  (ends 20th March 2014)
  • Win a cashmere scarf and bouquet in the Cashmere and Cotton prize draw (ends 26th March 2014)
  • At The Happy Foodie you can win their top ten cookbooks (ends 17th March 2014)

WIN £25 M&S VOUCHERS FOR YOU AND YOUR MUM!

Your comment needs to be approved so it won't appear straight away!

We’ll draw the winner at random from all comments after the competition closes on March 26th.

My favourite memory of my mum is when we were all in the pool in Thailand a few days before my wedding (which was that Thursday at 4pm) and my mum announced she had booked her massage - for... Thursday at 4pm! It makes me laugh because it's typical of how scatty my mum can be. :)

My favourite memory of my Mum is from when I was little. She used to spend ages plaiting and decorating my long hair. I have two older brother, so I think she was grateful for something other than muddy football boots!

One of my special memories of my mum is when she left a note in my flute box so that when i opened it to do my flute exam i found the note saying good luck and how much she loved me, and it helped ease my nerves :)

My Mum used to enjoy a form of knock and nash, where she would run around the back of our house, knock on the front door and then run back again.

When we went to the spa and she had to try everything so she could get her money's worth ! That's my mum not wanting to miss out on anything.

I love the fact that at the age of 47 i still get regular texts from my mom telling me to be careful for instance to be careful on the roads when going to work, if its cold she texts to say wrap up warm, and are you eating properly? It does make me smile that I am always texting my daughters worrying and it looks like ill never grow out of it just like my lovely mom

My Mum passed away 25 years ago but I remember a time when I had a really bad ear infection and kept falling over because I kept losing my balance, my dad was at work and mum had just come out of hospital after having major heart surgery, but she called a taxi and took me to the doctors even though she herself was in a pretty bad way. When we got home, we cuddled up on the sofa. Will never forget how unselfish and kind and loving she was. The best mum ever. x

My favourite memory of her is from 1973. My mum had been looking after her mum for over 2 years after she was diagnosed with throat cancer, she hardly moved out of the house in those 2 years. On New Years Eve that year my 2 Aunties came over to sit with my nan so my mum could have a night out. After she had got ready to go out she came into the bedroom to say goodbye. My nan just looked towards her and said I can see a shinning angel, my mum was wearing a silver sequinned dress. My nan died 2 weeks later and my mum has been gone for 23 years herself now but those words will always stay with me.

One of my favourite memories is something I was chatting about with my mum earlier as it happens. My dad used to work night shifts and when he had gone my mum would play all her records and we would sit and listen to them. Carly Simon and Barbra Streisand playing, happy days.

My mum is nearly 83,
And she is very kind to me,
She isnt very well,
but tries not to dwell,
She is very funny and smart,
And has a wonderful heart,
On mothers day she'll have cakes and flowers,
And we'll have fun and chat for hours.

My favourite and fondest memories of my mum is her creativity. She was amazing how she would transform boring vegetables and beans into delicious cakes and chips!

I was very lucky as my mum grew a lot of her own vegetables and we had the most amazing meals she created.

Her reaction when she found out that I got into University! I could tell she was proud of me, and even more so when I graduated.
