Back to School - Win a £50 Tesco Voucher (CLOSED)

Hello everyone!  How was your weekend, any nice wins to report?  Won another Goodreads book and a free pint of Carling from their iPint app, but I do have one other win to report – I have finally won a break away!  Yes, you read that correctly, after years of trying I have finally managed to win a holiday related prize – hurrah!  I have won a romantic mini-break at Chiltern Valley B&B in Oxfordshire, including a two hour vineyard and Brewery tour – I am really rather excited!  I won the comp through Mills & Boon and despite having missed their first email somehow they were kind enough to chase me up with a second, which I quickly responded to  So just goes to show that perseverance pays off and you realty can win those Wish List prizes if you just keep trying!

Well we are in the home straight now, less than two weeks to go now until the kids go back to school.  We have had some fun this summer, as well as some boring days for the kids when we have been working or doing chores, but I don’t think a little boredom is a bad thing.  Entertaining the little ones all day every day doesn’t set them up to have a very good imagination I don’t think; they need time to work out games on their own and realise that we are not there to tell them what to do every second of the day.  Still, I am rather glad that the end is in sight now as the girls are starting to get on each other’s nerves and it is almost time to get back to some sort of normality, routine and into early nights again.

If you have little ones going back to or starting school in September have you finished all your shopping for uniform, shoes and accessories?  Just a pair of shoes and a pencil case left to get here and then we will be done.  Back to school shopping can be a very expensive thing though, especially if you have more than one child to buy for or have older children at high school.  Here at The PrizeFinder we want to help lighten the load of back to school, shopping, by offering you the chance to win in our fabulous monthly members-only competition.  Join in with this month’s comp and you could be wining £50 to spend at Tesco on whatever you want – pick up some uniform essentials, a new backpack, stationery goodies or just fill up the fridge and cupboards ready for all those packed lunches and after school snacks.

To enter all you need to do is to tell me in the comments below what your favourite subject at school was.  For me it would probably be English Literature – so many books and just not enough time in the day!  You need to be a registered PrizeFinder member and logged into your account to enter.  One entry per person and one winner will be chosen at random after the closing date of 23:59 on Sunday 30th August 2015.

Happy comping everyone, and lots of Lucky dust to you all!

Kirsty x

History, back in the mists of time we had a History teacher, Mr Williams, who was an ex Regimental sergeant major in the Welsh Guards, he had the respect of all the girls in school, and he always stood up for his form. One day another teacher was telling our form off for being noisy......he walked in behind her and told her in no uncertain terms, we were his form and she knew if she had a problem with us to tell him. It was his responsibility to tell us off, and no other teacher was going to!
That man commanded respect!
I went on to study history at uni, and became a teacher myself. I even went back to my old school for my teaching practise, but he had left :-(

Mine was music - I play the piano & trumpet & music has always come easily to me. Went on to do a degree at Surrey uni but now sadly don't do an awful lot - would love to get back into it again.

I loved English Literature too! My head was always in a book and I loved the romanticism of the Brontes and Austen - our class went to Haworth just to roam on the moors like Heathcliff and Cathy!

My top subjects were always my languages. English, Spanish and French. Although I came out top in English and Spanish, my favourite was French simply because all my friends were in that class and we used to have a great time mucking about in between our work!

Geography was my favourite subject. I loved learning about all the different places in the world and the different cultures. My grandmother loved learning about travel and some of it must have rubbed off, consequently I have a passion for discovering new places to visit.
Enjoy your break to Oxfordshire!

My favourite subject was history - just loved learning about the English kings and queens. Henry VIII still holds a fascination for me now and love reading historical fiction books.

I loved Geography as my teacher was so funny and made the lessons great fun. I had no interest in the subject, but had fun in the lessons anyway!

At my Junior School my favourite subject was Nature Study, probably because we were sometimes looking for things outside instead of sitting in the classroom.

Technology. As I the only girl who did this as a gcse subject I felt like I was setting a example for us girls. I love making things and finding out how they work.

I'm a crafty kinda girl so Needlework was my favourite subject! It didn't feel like a lesson as it was something I really enjoyed doing - even homework was fun! :-)
