  • Books, Vouchers and Prize for the School

Isabella aged 7 is very keen on helping the environment. She entered a kids competition which involved helping plan the ideal new town. She was one of the 12 winners out of 140 entrants and won £50 Amazon voucher for herself and her school. They were delighted and asked her what they should buy, she said books so that is what they are getting, lovely. Books seem to be the theme then as I won a lovely book for her sister Alice from a gleam competition seen on prizefinder, another from Toppsta, and £50 cash from a standard rate txt comp. Hope 2021 stays lucky.

  • If at first you don’t suc’seed’!

After a very successful comping hobby of over 30 years, I had gradually lost interest, as there were so few of my favourite tiebreaker comps around, following the surge of internet and social media comps. Like many old school compers, I settled down to a prize-less future, and my hobbies took a different direction... travelling, reading and wildlife photography. On a whim, last month, I entered a bird photo comp with one of my shots of long-tailed tits on my garden feeder, and was surprised to hear shortly afterwards, that I’d won first prize: a £50 bird feeding bundle. Now my old comping appetite has been whetted... who knows what next?

  • The gift of sharing

During February I entered a lot of competition where you nominated other people to win a prize. I won a Hotel Chocolat Hamper for my friend Lynne. She was ecstatic as she loves Hotel Chocolat and the Prosecco was a bonus. The prize was from Diamond Logistics on Instagram.
I am awaiting a prize from Twitter from On TheSauce Again. It was a Pinkster Gin home tasting kit for two. They are sending one pack to me and the other to my nominee. I nominate my daughter. The idea is that we have a zoom chat and try out drinks at the same time.
I love winning other people prizes.

  • I won a Mini!!

I never thought I would be writing this, but after almost 10 years entering competitions I got my biggest win yet!
On Christmas Eve I entered Huawei's spin to win competition. There were lots of smaller prizes up for grabs along with the Grand Prize of a brand new Mini One if you spun on a Magic Key. I did and late January I received a phone call to tell me I had won!! My new car was delivered a couple of weeks later with a big shiny red bow.
I still can't believe it even though it is on the driveway!
To all compers out there don't get discouraged the big wins are real and someone has to win them, keep going!

  • My 1st Week - My 1st Win!

One morning I was a little confused to recieve a text saying that my delivery from Everards Brewery was going to be delivered that day?
My initial thought was that a friend had sent a lockdown gift...
Later that day it did indeed arrive and I realised that I'd actually WON a PRIZE!
what a shock! Beginners luck do you think?
I don't actually drink beer, but next to arrive was our Postman. A young chap who has worked throughout the pandemic.
He was completely unphased by my random question "Do you drink Beer? Beer Beer?"
Indeed he did! So my 1st prize was paid forward.
    Smiles all round!

  • Luxury Makeup Brushes

I won a competition from The Handbook (London Magazine) for access to an exclusive luxury dating service. I couldn't really remember entering that and was more intrigued than anything else, as I don’t think I’m the type of person to ever be on that sort of millionaire dating service! I soon got told that a winner had already been chosen so they sent me a alternative prize to another competition, some amazing luxury Boubou makeup brushes. I actually love doing my makeup and these will be replacing my chewed-up Primark brushes, so I’m much more glad with this prize anyway. The brushes are worth £120 and have been handcrafted in Italy, and they are so soft with velvet handles. It came in this amazing PR box, which makes me feel like an Instagram influencer. Thank you so much to theprizefinder.com because I would not have known about these competitions otherwise. Bronwyn xx

  • Cookery Book wins

Two really useful wins in January were cookery books. The first to arrive was Stork the art of Home baking and the second was Speedy Mob.
The art of Home Baking I passed on to my Mum as she always bakes lovely pies. I am hoping to be rewarded with one or two of her experiments with the new book. I think this was won from Hurst Media - I entered the competition as there were lots of lovely prizes.
The second book Speedy Mob is useful as it gives me new ideas for speedy dinners - this was won from Sainsburys magazine.
It's lovely to have something new to read delivered straight to your door at the moment. Well done the prize delivery promotions team for managing this at the moment.
Also keep up the good work Prizefinder as without you we would not find as many new comps. It's a distraction to lose yourself in entering competitions and stops you thinking about other worries.

  • CHEERS

Had a lovely surprise email a couple of weeks ago to say I had won 6 bottles of champagne in the Waitrose Christmas draw and this week it turned up. To say I am delighted is an understatement as it is my Brother and Sister-in-law’s golden wedding anniversary in September and hopefully all the family will be able to get together by then to celebrate. It’s been really hard during lockdown not being able to see them other than the odd occasion on zoom. Comping has been my lifeline in these horrible times as I am sure it has been for a lot of people. Fingers crossed for September. 🤞

  • Cheerful January

Thankfully I have been able to keep the January blues at bay. Through a Facebook competition with Costcutters I won 6 packets of Betty Crocker Devil’s Food Cake Mix and 6 Betty Crocker Indulgent Chocolate Flavour Icing.
I am going to share it with my family when lockdown ends.
Spear and Jackson ran a Facebook competition and there were very few entrants and we all won a Multi Tool and a torch. I am still awaiting delivery of that prize.
I won my first Gleam competition which was run by TopCash Back. The prize is a box of Prime 50 Skin, Hair and Nails food supplement.
Fingers crossed February will be as good!

I was lucky enough to win two prizes in Dec and had not received either of them by middle of January so politely chased. I then received them both within a couple of days. I won a spot prize of a book and a bar of Lindor chocolate from Choc Lit on Facebook.and an Aperol Hamper from Costcutter on Facebook. The hamper also contains a bottle of Prosecco which I love, 2 nice glasses and some soda water so summer drinks are sorted. I am yet to get off the mark in 2021 so these two prizes have cheered me up.
