  • It's all about staycations in 2014!

Well like most people, I find that January is a very long month and it's like a recovery period from xmas and new year but at the same time it's as stressful as the month drags. I didn't think I would win a thing this year, let alone this month already.... I digress

During the month of stress and woe I was there lying on my settee worrying in silence as you do and at the same time dreaming about wanting to go away and that was one of my aims with comping this year. Low and behold I get a WEM stating I had won a voucher for hotels in the UK and worth £1000!
I blinked, looked, then blinked again and out loud said ' OMG'! Screamed then stopped, second guessed it, thought it was a spam. I replied to them and before I knew it I had the card voucher in my hand, went on the site to look at the hotels to find it's not just UK hotels it's INTERNATIONAL!
So people ask the cosmos and you shall receive, keep pushing on :)

I've been comping for a while now as and when busy family life lets me....and this week we were lucky enough to win an INNOCENT hamper from NetMums. Here is our young son having great fun sorting out all the magnet letters that came in the hamper, not sure where the fridge is now though :)

Well it's been a very slow month with my longest streak of no wins ever! I had a couple dotted at the start of January including £25 Argos voucher from a Facebook competition, a personalised razor from Wilkinson Sword for the boyfriend, some craft kits and a £25 Aldi voucher from their Facebook page.

May February bring more comps to enter :)

  • Back with a bang!

After around 6 months barely entering anything due to expecting my 4th child and without a single win I had almost given up! I took part in lots of advents and December comps and felt gutted to not have a single win!

So mid January I was ecstatic to receive an email from Stork Up wondering why I had not responded after they chose my photo as a winner. They sent me £200 vouchers from John Lewis and I was able to put them towards an iPad mini my son was desperate for!

Since then, I got a WEM for a £75 craft hamper which was also a December win and a kids T-shirt on twitter, but best of all my mojo back!

  • Won Direction

My ears are still ringing from the sound of my daughter screaming after I told her I had won the dream prize for a Directioner (besotted One Direction fan.)

After searching for One Direction competitions on ThePrizefinder, I entered one with Sainsburys.

To my utter amazement, I was notified three days later by email saying I had won!

The prize was four tickets for their sold out concert at Wembley in June, with an overnight stay in a London hotel with breakfast, plus train travel included. We have also already received two extra prizes of One Direction goody bags and posters.

My daughter has decided to take her cousin and her best friend, and I have the pleasure of escorting the three of them. Wish me luck!

  • 90% Effort, 10% Luck :)

I started comping in June 2013 after thinking about starting it for a long time. I comped casually about 10 years ago with my Mum and we did well winning small prizes regularly from magazines. It took a while to get the hang of it but I now find lots of lovely surprise wins at the door/winning emails at least 2 times a week. I find a mixture of sourcing out low entry competitions, using Twitter, Facebook and other forms of social media as well as the fabulous PrizeFinder has been my winning combination. Over the advent period, I was lucky enough to win 70 prizes in December totalling well over 2K. I won a prize almost every day, some days I won up to 7. I kept telling myself "There's no such thing as luck!" and entering every spare minute I had. My determination paid off and I've been enjoying my prizes all throughout January. One of my favourite wins was this Phillip Treacy hat which I have donated to my Mum. Here she is modelling it. I stick by my motto, 90% effort and 10% luck - keep going guys and the prizes WILL come in. :D x

  • Another Decent Month Of Wins

Its been a pretty quiet month for wins for me this month.. in fact the quietest it's been since I started comping 6/7 months ago. I'm thinking I may have had beginners luck as it slowed to a halt almost! However a few days ago I won a beautiful silver necklace, my first decent win of the month. I also had 2 small surprise wins turn up, a febreze candle from the super savvy me xmas prize draw, and some Got2Be argan oil hair stuff. Hoping for the elusive biggie in February! I'm currently a proud owner of a broken mobile phone and a TV on its last legs, so fingers crossed ThePrizeFinder helps me on my way! Here's the picture of the necklace I won on a Facebook like and share comp! :)

  • #UnlockLondon

I started entering competitions semi-seriously in September 2013 and won nothing until this week - but oh my, what an inaugural win! I spotted the link on ThePrizeFinder website and entered the #UnlockLondon competition on the Guoman Hotels Facebook page - I just 'liked' their page, entered my details and a tip on 'secret London'. I was incredibly pleased to get an email this week to say I'd won! I'm told that over 2850 people entered so I feel very very lucky! My prize is a two-night stay for two in my choice of the luxury Guoman London hotels, along with £200 towards dinner, a private speedboat trip on the Thames, a half-day personal shopping trip with a celeb personal stylist, a helicopter trip, a 90 minute spa treatment each and finally £250 spending money! Phew! I think we'll need another break to get over the excitement!!! Oh, and then I got home and had two packs of California almonds to enjoy....! I LOVE my new hobby!

  • A Great Win For A Newbie

I started comping at the beginning of Jan and the only thing I got was a suspended twitter account (oops!!) But lessons learnt, I never really thought I would win. Today while I was cooking dinner I got a phone call from the head office saying a company on Facebook was trying to contact me. They had seen on my profile who I worked for so I phoned them. I checked my Facebook and sure enough on Monday (it's now Friday oops) I had won a pair of shoes. I had ten pairs of shoes and boots to choose from.
