  • Fridge driver nearly given cold shoulder

    Posted by Higson

    Friday, January 17, 2014

I got a call from a guy out of the blue who said he 'thought he had a fridge for me'. I was like 'Errr...OK. Ummm...' However, he verified all my delivery details and when he arrived (he was a delivery driver just round the corner) it was a red Smeg Fridge I had won in a NISA competition! These are going for £592 on Amazon so I was pretty pleased and this year we will be moving into our own home for the first time so would have needed to buy a fridge. Have left it in the box until the move. I hadn't won anything for ages - I started comping last summer and have only won this fridge, a folding bike (photo comp), and a very flimsy umbrella - mind you, I only enter 200-300 competitions a WEEK, not every day like others. Unexpectedly, I had received no notification whatsoever of the fridge win! It's like things appear by magic at your door, slightly surreally, as you don't know what may be coming. I am ashamed to say I was rude to the fridge driver on the phone at first for calling for calling me a 'mrs'. When you're comping, some cold callers are welcome!

I was thrilled to have been told I had won an iPad mini from a prize draw from ThePrizeFinder website, but when it didn't materialise I was worried that it had been a scam.
Thanks to a post on the blog I found out how to report problems if a company doesn't send the prize out, and that there are companies who regulate it. It took 2 months from being told I had won to it being sent out but finally I was sent the prize and I have been so happy with it. The company were quick to get in touch after I'd reported it and were keen to resolve the situation in a positive way, so it worked out really well.
I've been quite lucky so far with ThePrizeFinder with some fantastic prizes though I think the iPad is one of my favourite wins so far!
Can't wait to enter some more competitions!

I couldn't believe it when I received an e-mail to say I had won a prize, I was jumping for joy. I joined ThePrizeFinder in October 2013 and this is my first win. It wasn't a big win but I'm just so happy to have won something. I won Man of Steel Blu-ray DVD, dongle, Superman badge, Superman logo shaped paper and a Superman laptop/iPad backpack and I'm the happiest Prizefinder winner ever. The thrill of winning is amazing and I will definitely be doing many more competitions and hopefully will be winning many many more prizes. My daughter introduced me to ThePrizeFinder and I'm so glad she did, what a great way to pass the time away when the children are at school and in the evening when there is nothing on the telly. I don't use any other competition finder site, this is the one for me. Here's to many many more entries and winnings, thank you for making it so easy.

  • Advent Wins

I only started comping properly at the beginning of December when I decided to throw myself into the advents! I have won some great prizes in the last few weeks including a Ted Baker iPad case, Frozen DS game, Amazon voucher, Step 2 ride on motorbike, 007 aftershave and many more. My best wins however were afternoon tea at the Beaufort Hotel which also included a £50 Harrods voucher, and dinner for 2 at Armadillo at the O2. I decided to combine the two and treated my mum for her birthday in London. What a treat when we were presented with a voucher for £100 when we got to the restaurant! We had so much fun trying all the different cocktails and stuffing our faces! My friends keep asking how I do it!!! Thank you theprizefinder.com!

I started comping in Jan 2012 and had a great year. 2013 however was insane and I have given my friends and family some of THE most amazing experiences through prizes.
For my husband I won a VIP tour of the Formula 1 Red Bull head office and factory. For my children I have won show tickets and meals to their favourite places.
With my £11,500 cash prizes and various vouchers I have paid for my sisters 30th birthday meal, a trip to Greece to see my friend get married, a trip to Orlando later this year and a hen weekend to Barcelona.
Clothes for weddings and parties, 13 tickets for Alton Towers, weekend breaks for us all and £500 worth of gift vouchers for Christmas!
I don't expect to ever have a year as amazing as I just have, I am just so grateful for the lovely things I am able to give my loved ones..all thanks to comping!

  • Smartphone, Handbag and Vouchers!

You may remember my post on your Facebook page around October/November. I was saying that I was spending hours comping and hadn't won a thing since the summer. It was so nice for other people give ideas and spur me on and I kept at it.
December is my favourite time of year for comps as I love the advents. I made sure I put aside an hour a day (at work, don't tell my bosses) to do the advents and the 1st week in December I won a £25 One4all gift card and a ZTE Smart phone. I was bowled over and I gave the phone to my daughter for Christmas. I would never have managed to afford to buy one like that.
Then came the big one. I had an email from the National Lottery saying that I had won a handbag in their advent comp. I was so pleased to win such a lovely treat. Imagine how I felt when I discovered it was a Mulberry handbag worth £1,600.
It's my biggest win and I couldn't believe it. The girls at work were both jealous and pleased for me.
I'm hoping for a great 2014 comping. Good luck everyone. xxx

  • Shocked!

Back in November I was sat on my sofa checking my messages on Facebook when I came across one in my inbox asking me to call a number and quote 'winner'. I was very sceptical and wasn't sure if it was spam. After 10mins I decided to ring it. When I rang and said winner they said "Congratulations, you've won a corner sofa and we can deliver it tomorrow." I was in shock. As the day went on I was in disbelief so didn't think too much about it. The next morning I was waiting for in for a few deliveries when I answered the door. The guy said, "Miss Pawson?" I said "Yes?" He said 'We've got you down for a sofa today." I nearly fainted, couldn't believe my luck. I'm over the moon.

  • Surprise Prize

    Friday, January 10, 2014

I was chuffed to receive an e-mail letting me know that I'd been selected as a runner up in the Rough Guide competition. When I got home from work to find one of those exciting missed delivery notes from the post office I knew it was my Journey Latin American water bottle. Imagine my surprise when I collected the package only to find out it was a completely different prize that I didn't know I'd won! My son loves his new dinosaur backpack AND I`ve still got the other prize to look forward too.
    Thanks Prizefinder

  • Merry Christmas to me

    Posted by Higson

    Friday, January 10, 2014

It was Christmas Eve and there was a knock at the door. My husband went to open it and when he returned he had a rather large parcel in his hands. It was addressed to me but I hadn't ordered anything so I was rather excited when I opened it. I had every right to be because I had just won £300 worth of Paul Mitchell hair products. What a fantastic Christmas present, especially as I don't receive presents very often. This would have been quite enough but a few days later I was reading through my email and found the email from Grazia regarding the prize. I had won the top prize and had also won a haircut/colour in the Headmasters flagship salon in Mayfair. Merry Christmas to me :)
