  • A Good Year!

I started comping 3 years ago but never won anything so I gave up. I started again last January and have had some excellent wins! Last year I won:
    Champagne Glasses
    Cereal
    £500 Country Attire Voucher
    Beauty Prizes
    4 Blossom Hill Wines
    Kitkat Bars
Palmers Daily Facials goody bag (pictured)
    £100 White Company Voucher
A Family Pass to a National Trust Property
I am still hoping for a holiday this year so that I can use it as my honeymoon but doing competitions is fun anyway and even a small win gives you the rush! My advice to other people who haven't won anything yet would be don't give up - my third ever win was the biggest I've had!

I started comping in October 2013. I thought I would give it a go as I had recently dropped a day at work, but didn't really think that anyone really won online competitions. How wrong I was! My first win was £150 worth of Waitrose vouchers from mums.net and I thought, oh that's it, I will probably never win anything again. I persevered entering around 40-70 comps a day with the help of your site. My next win was a cookery book, then a £10 TK Maxx voucher and then the best so far - a gift card for notonthehighstreet.com (Stylist magazine) for £500! That was really useful for Christmas. My latest win was a £50 Spartoo voucher (advent comp). So in around 3 months I have won over £700 in prizes. This is truly the best hobby ever and thank you so much for your brilliant site!

  • I didn't quite win but the conciliation gift was amazing!

A couple of months ago I noticed a blog that was put up by Di coke saying how she had won lots of high street gift cards in a game with Ben Shepard on Barclaycard's online programme. So straight away I contacted Barclaycard to see if I could be in the running to play this game in the future. I received a response saying unfortunately the competition had now closed but they appreciated my letter saying how I liked the fun but simple idea of the game, they would like to keep me in consideration for future games. Then a few weeks later, out of the blue a letter came from Barclaycard, I initially thought probably junk mail to get me to sign up with them.
But to my surprise the was a lovely letter from Barclaycard and £30 in Love2shop vouchers. Just what I needed to get my daughter some extra Christmas treats. So my top tip to any one is make an extra special effort when entering competitions or applying to companies, well thought out letters can receive lovely rewards.

  • My biggest win ever!

Like a lot of compers, I enter literally hundreds of comps. I love Prizefinder as I enter all the Twitter comps that I'd like to win from here - specially when I'm short of time.
My daughter and I comp regularly and we entered Christmas comps all through December, hoping for a few goodies, but nothing... We had already won a few good prizes this year - a George Foreman grill and a hot/cold 80L cool bag being the best. Then, I checked my emails on Friday morning to find a congratulatory message from New Look - I was one of the winners of a £1000 EGift card in their 12 days of Christmas competition! OMG! I couldn't believe it, I was so excited! I sent off my confirmation email to them (who in their right mind would refuse such an amazing prize???) and waited to receive my prize.
Yesterday I received it via email, printed it out and I still can't believe it! That's my wardrobe, my husband's and my daughter's well and truly sorted. What a great end to 2013!
I shall be comping my heart out from now on - for prizes that I really want to win! I do hope this gives people the encouragement to keep comping - after all, someone has to win and I was so lucky to win because I simply took the time to enter a prize draw!
Happy New Year everyone - and good luck!

  • A Saksy Christmas!

Following a poor result from this year's advent calendars, I had a wonderful end to 2013 when Christmas came early for me with lots of fabulous December wins - several books, iTunes vouchers, a crate of ale, festival tickets and third prize in a photo competition with eFRAME in which I won a £50 voucher!

Best of all, I had entered a random draw with Saks Hair and Beauty UK and won their star prize, a pink GHD straighteners set.

I have made a New Year resolution to enter more effort competitions in 2014 which are great fun even if I don't win as the preparation and photography involved is what I really love about this hobby. It is also wonderful to see all the other entries into well run competitions where the camaraderie is fantastic!

As we all know, comping takes a lot of time and patience....and to those that say 'Aren't you lucky?' well er no I'm not!!!

  • Brilliant 2013

WOW, I had an amazing time comping in 2013 and the advents have been fantastic. I started putting in more hours comping in Sept 2013 and since then have won more than 2K in wins!!
I've always wanted a 40" TV but no way I could ever afford one, but in December I won an iPad Air which I sold on to a friend who had always wanted one but also could not afford the £500 to buy one. So I sold it to them for a reasonable amount, I got my 40" TV and they got the iPad they'd always wanted. I also won a Nikon camera and lens kit. I am into photography so this win really has given me what I need to start 2014 with a new hobby.

My goal for 2014 is to win an Xbox one, and any wedding items I can win as I've been engaged for 3 years and can't afford to get married. Comping I have learnt can make your dreams come true!

I have had a great year winning lots of lovely things, from a mushroom grater to a luxury spa day and lots of lovely things in between.

We have had lots of family days out, meals out, theatre trips and short breaks that we would not have been able to afford otherwise.

Christmas was made easier as I was lucky to win a Collection Cosmetics box, full of make-up and skincare, ideal for my daughter.

My most recent win has been a lovely wicker basket containing 4 handcrafted wine glasses which I won from Kettle Chips.

Here's to another great winning year!

  • Fab Boxing Day at Disney on Ice

    Posted by Higson

    Tuesday, December 31, 2013

Months ago our young son entered a Disney competition by designing an Easter Card. He was lucky enough to win a family ticket to Disney on Ice! Then he had to wait several months till we could go to the O2 Arena for Disney on Ice (all the waiting was rather difficult for a 5 year old).

But it was well worth the wait....we'd done some internet research re: parking and souvenirs. And with free parking, some Mickey/Minnie mouse ears from the internet, and some snacks from the local supermarket, we had the most amazing day. We simply couldn't afford the prices of parking and £8/9 for popcorn/candy floss.

The Show was amazing and the whole family enjoyed it. It was our young son's first show...so Thank You to Disney on Ice, and my teenage daughter is never to old for a Disney show. With Snow White and the Dwarfs, Seeing Mickey and Minnie, Cinderella and the ugly stepsisters, and Rapunzel dancing with Prince Charming being some of our favourite moments.
