Hi Di and Prizefinder,
Just had a bumper comping month with five prizes. None of them were whoppers but all were gratefully received!
The month started with a visit to the dentist and then a stressful day having the central heating boiler serviced. What I needed was a glass of wine...kapow! A case of four bottles from Blossom Hill on Facebook. Their Summer Collection here just in time for the heatwave.
I do love to win shopping vouchers and Lavender and Lovage obliged with £75 of Sainsbury’s vouchers the following week. We made a day of travelling to Scarborough to our nearest Sainsbury’s store. The sun was shining and we had a picnic lunch then filled the car boot with goodies - all free! The store also had a “spend £60 get 10 a litre off fuel” promotion so we filled up the car too!
Ping! An e mail from The Telegraph Newspaper telling me I had won £50 of M & S vouchers cheered me up the following week. I had told them what I was doing to make someone's day delicious. Now I have no idea what I said or if indeed it was just a random draw but the vouchers certainly made our week delicious. The dine in for £10 deal was running and had a veggie option for my o/h. I chose Goats cheese pasties (in the freezer as it’s too hot to cook them at the moment), new potatoes with butter and herbs, fresh berries and a bottle of Rose wine. Three Quiches for £6 were another bargain (2 of them still in the freezer). I am going to spend the rest of this win to celebrate the Bank Holiday and finger crossed the Dine In deal is running again.
I love my postie and always give him a good tip at Christmas but just when he seemed to be letting me down he brought a cheque from the RSPCA Lottery, £10. Keep up the good work Dean!
Facebook came up trumps with another win from Percol coffee. A jar of Kilamanjaro and a frother. Now I have never used a frother and there was no instructions. I frothed my milk all over the kitchen worktops!
I am 63 and won my first competition way back in 1958 from Princess magazine - a writing case with Basildon Bond paper and envelopes. I love the way comping keeps me young. I am always learning new things and meeting new people.
Roll on my Diamond Comping Anniversary in 2018.
