  • Winning month

This month has been great for wins. I won a car valet then £500 in a competition, so it really does pay to keep comping as you never know what will turn up, it's a great feeling to win! I also manged to get a decorator to paint the kitchen in a free draw which would have cost £300 so a terrific prize! I would encourage anyone to try comping as it is fun and also you learn alot about places and history doing it which can come in useful if you go to a pub quiz! So I will be very busy comping coming up to Christmas with the advent competitions which have some amazing prizes!

  • Fabulous holiday in Switzerland

Won a holiday to Switzerland courtesy of the Swiss Tourist Board. Flew Lufthansa from London City Airport - just, after Abellio Greater Anglia dumped us at Hackney Downs instead of Liverpool Street - thanks for the stress, guys. Smooth flight to Zurich with Lufthansa, then a quick look at the Art Gallery and walk round the City. In the morning set off on a three-day walk to Lucerne, luggage being sent on ahead. Lucerne is wonderful, so booked an extra day to see all it has to offer - notably the fabulous Transport Museum. A fabulous experience.

I don't often win anything so was absolutely delighted when I got a fantastic prize from Belazu consisting of about a dozen very useful and some unusual cooking ingredients which included such things as Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, Tahini, two types of Harissa and something called Zhoug Paste which I have yet to work out when and how to use! I have two daughters though who are interested in cooking so will just have to share some of these lovely items with them - and am sure they will be as appreciative as I am.

I entered less competitions in October due to having a holiday overseas to visit my son and his family.
Still an exciting month prize wise as I received a coffee machine that I won last month!
Twitter seems to be lucky for me at the moment. I won a £20 voucher to spend at The Postcard Store. Very handy prize for a comper. Also I won with New Look a choice of any New Look dress on their website.
On Instagram I won with Savers. A box of six bottles of bubbly from Belle & Co. it’s non alcoholic good for the drivers visit me at Christmas.
Hopefully November will be a great month as I am hoping to win prizes for the grandchildren.

I won £250 on a radio station competition! I've been doing competitions for several months now and this is my first big win! I'm going to use the money towards a family holiday! It just goes to show perseverance pays off!

I also recently won access to a live performance of Wallace and Gromit. I'm sure my son will really enjoy watching this and we are going to use it over the halloween weekend.

I'd love to win a holiday next, fingers crossed. Good luck to all you compers I hope you gave a good win soon!

  • Friday Freebie Win

I haven't comped for a while but started again recently and won a pair of horse riding gloves, an Olympic coffee container and my best win so far is this lovely summer dress from Klass Clothing. It's perfect for a cruise so I'm hoping to win one now so I can wear it on the deck of a ship. My husband couldn't believe my wins after only a few weeks of getting back into entering competitions again and he now keeps asking me how many I've entered each day. He wants some new golf clubs or anything golf related so here's hoping.

  • Expressly for the Horror!

Thank you for listing the Horror Screams Video Vault competitions on the Prizefinder website. I like entering film and DVD competitions as my husband is a lifelong film fan and we all enjoy having family time together watching films at the weekend.

I got a wem just the other day for one of our favourite films - Horror Express - and on blu-ray too! Here I am looking rather more happy than horrified, but the film is a firm family favourite and arrived in lots of time for us to terrify ourselves on Hallowe'en!

  • Yes you can

Like everyone, our life came to a grinding halt when coronavirus hit. Work from home and home school abruptly started and unfortunately my husband was made redundant. We had our holiday we had saved for 2 years was cancelled. We loved being together but, life became different and stressful. I knew I had to turn it around, lift our moods and make a plan. I needed to inject some structure back in to our lifes and take charge back from covid. I couldn’t afford to book another holiday, but I could win one! My family was skeptical and my husband joked ‘maybe mum can win us a holiday’
Well, I did. I entered a competition on Capital Radio I found on prizefinder. I thought I might as well put my name in the hat. 20 mins later, my phone rang… it was a number beginning with 0141 which I knew was Glasgow. Could it be? I answered and I actually could not believe it. IT WAS CAPITAL RADIO. The presenter said ‘do you know who this is?!’
In complete shock I kept shouting ‘it’s the radio! You are calling from the radio!!’ I’m pure excitement I ran upstairs where my husband lay in the bath, I just thrusted the phone at him. He said hello and the presenter explained, he laughed ‘Is this a wind up?!’ I was jumping up and down in the hall, my 6 year old little girl was so emotional and overwhelmed she just cried the whole time. She watched me enter but it was the realisation that you really could win. And we had. She followed me around like a lost puppy sobbing. My son called his nanna and gran from another line and shouted down the phone we’ve won a holiday.

Needless to say I kept up with the hobby. It’s one like no other. And real people like me and you win. Ordinary people, the very ordinariest like me. I won a holiday to Spain in luxury accommodation, a hotel sitting bang on the beach. All for the cost of a text message. I love most of all, the feeling of hope and excitement I have, you never know what’s round the corner. Dreams really do come true. If you believe that they can.

Isolating and feeling bored my little grand daughter was delighted when the postman arrived with a prize for her. It came from Sparkle magazine and was listed here on Prizefinder. A few weeks before her sister received an England Shirt (just up her street as she loves football) from another comp listed here. Their little brother is eagerly awaiting one for him. Think I will just have to order something and `pretend` if nothing arrives soon. Sometimes its the smile that matters, not the price of the prize.
