Did you know that the BBQ we all know and love originated in the Caribbean?  The word barbeque derives from the Arawak word barbaca which evolved into babacoa to describe the unique way the Taíno people would cook meat. They were the first people to cook on a ‘grill’ - made from a raised wooden grate placed over a fire pit.
