Tips For Entering Competitions
As the competition enthusiast will confirm, entering competitions is a stimulating, interesting and profitable activity. Millions of pounds in prizes are given away each year, and if you possess normal intelligence and the virtue of perserverence, there is no reason in the world why you should not share in this bounty.
Internet competitions and prize draws are becoming increasingly popular and offer a cheap and simple way to submit your entries. ThePrizeFinder does the legwork for you, finding thousands of new competitions on the web every month and listing them all in one place.
Tips for Success
- If you haven't done already, register with ThePrizeFinder. This will give you access to the latest competitions, the top prizes page, as well as our unique competition tracking system which keeps track of which competitions you have entered.
- You can use the Customise listings page to hide the competitions you've entered, change the order in which the competitions are displayed, alter the number of competitions per page and more.
- Enter as many competitions as you can. The more you enter, the greater chance you have of winning.
- Use form filler software to speed up the process of entering your details. A highly recommended form filler is Roboform. Google Toolbar also contains an Autofill function which allows you to fill in your details with one click.
- Look out for competitions offering multiple prizes. Again, this improves your chance of winning.
- Focus your efforts on entries which require a skill element. A competition involving a quiz or a tiebreaker usually attracts fewer entries.
- Only compete for prizes you want to win. Although you can sell unwanted prizes, it makes sense to concentrate your efforts on winning those prizes you can really use.
- Don't leave your competition entries until the closing date. Sometimes a competition will close early, especially if the promoter is keen to start the next competition on their website.
- Read the rules carefully and make sure you answer the questions correctly. If you are unsure of the answer, type the question in Google or Ask.com.
- Don't disqualify yourself! Only enter once unless the rules state otherwise. Don't be tempted to enter on behalf of your friends and neighbours as some websites log your computer's IP address when you enter.
- If you have registered on a website to enter competitions, make sure your details are up-to-date, especially if you have moved recently or changed your email address.
- Thank the sponsors when you win. A small courtesy, but one that is very appreciated by competition promoters. The postive feedback will hopefully encourage them to run more competitions in the future.
