It’s out with the new, and in with the old, for me this year, in the shape of a 50 year-old, limited edition bottle of whisky…. courtesy of the Spar/Whyte & Mackay competition. Only 1750 bottles were ever produced, and it’s estimated to be worth around £1500! At that price I’m not sure I dare open it, despite my husband’s eager pleas. I don’t comp very much these days, as my favourite tiebreaker comps are almost as rare as this prize. So what a lovely way to end what has undoubtedly been a rather trying year for many of us.
