I entered this competition Oct 2015, with a c/d of 15/11. In this comp you had to say what you'd do with a personal controller, the comp was hosted by publishing house who were promoting the realise of David Baddiels new kids book called the Personal Controller.

So I kept it simple and original and said "I'd like someone to prepare my food, when I want it how I want it and clear up!" In late April I had a email to say I'd won the first and only prize of a PS4! Worth £280!!! With 3 teenagers I an the coolest mum in the world!! The Xbox and games were sold for £150 so they could raise funds for new games for it, even my husband plays on it now too!

I've since won in May Florette salad bowl, Sponge cake from Twitter, 2x Ascot ladies day tickets, family ticket to The Cutty Sark and another family ticket to Colchester Zoo!

The best wins for me is one I can share or give to others

A number of prizes have been notified this month but delivery is taking time. I have received another set of AA batteries in the daily entry Battery Force competition and I have had the prize code for £50 to spend at Brighton Beautiful. Other prizes of which I have been notified but not yet delivered include a copy of A War on DVD plus four other DVDs with Closer, a Nintendo 3DS New Console with Heat World and have just been notified of a win of a Blu-ray bundle with In the Heart of the Sea in an Empire competition. All of these competitions I found via Prizefinder so thank you once again.

Sometimes in comping you have to be patient. I won a £100 Fuel Card back in February but it was only delivered early in May. I have had to send emails to enquire over the progress of other prizes. Sometimes there has been a hitch and on other occasions human error is at fault but it does pay to keep track of comps entered or at least winning notifications.

I am rather lazy type of comper, I generally don't search for competitions, just enter those I find on Prize Finder or on Facebook.

Recently I came across the daily entry ones like GoodtoKnow or Bauer Media. Bauer Media offers really good prizes and the thought of winning something with them was so tempting that I decided to give it go. I entered hundreds of times daily and in May alone I won 7 times: books, dvds, toys, cosmetics and a fantastic gluten-free cookery kit thanks to Knorr.

The prize hasn't arrived yet but it includes:

I know that chances of winning in this type of competition are very slim and entries are time consuming but I think the prizes are worth the effort!

I've been comping on and off for about four years now, with very little to show for the time I have put in! I was beginning to lose heart a little, but May has been a good month for me! Two football-related prizes (a subject dear to my heart!) - two tickets to see the Non-League finals day at Wembley, which was an excellent prize from Pundit Sports, and a Hull City print, a Twitter prize. Hurrah! Got the bug back again now - and to top it off, Hull City were promoted at the end of the month!

Can you believe it, that I have won TWO dream holidays in the space of a few days? I received a WEM from Snow Magazine, and I have won an all-inclusive skiing holiday to Montgenevre in France, which I have decided I will take in January.
A couple of days later, I received a phonecall from Magic FM during my lunch break, saying I'd been shortlisted to go on air to compete for a holiday to a mystery dream destination and that I presenter might call be to go live on air to compete with other contestants. Anyway, 20 mins later my phone rang again and it was the presenter asking me if I was ready to go live on air! Next thing, there I was, with 5 other contestants - he designated an envelope to each contestant - the winning envelope was mine! Then he read the dream destination out, and it was an all inclusive holiday to Jamaica at a 5 star hotel, with Virgin Holidays! I'm going in August.
A few days after that, I had another prize win from Country Life mag, and I'd won a two night break with dinner, bed and breakfast and use of spa facilities at a Great Best Western Plus of my choice! I'm hoping to take my mum on this one, in July.
I love this hobby - it's turning me into a real jetsetter, which I've always wanted to be, and all for free!

I haven't had any big wins in May, in fact my last big win was back in February when I won a top quality mattress and lovely bedding from Dreams Facebook page. You had to say who your snuggle partner was and I put a photo on the site of hubby and I on our honeymoon more than 40 years ago. Since then I have won enough comps to keep me going but this month I have won several books, mostly from the Good Reads daily comp and also from Harper Collins and the CSMA Reading Room. Fortunately they have all been reads that both my husband and I have enjoyed and a couple for my Mum who is approaching 101 but still an avid reader, I have a job to keep up with books for her! This month I also won sunglasses from a till spit at Tesco in the Walkers competition, what a long haul that is. Last week I was still receiving prizes from the previous Walkers Champions League comp, I have just about kitted out one of the local youth football teams. Two nice wins were a golfing jacket for hubby and a Damart jacket for myself, both Facebook wins, where most of my prizes seem to come from these days, although I have given up on some of the Facebook comps, like and share to win a bottle of shower gel, which seem to attract many hundreds of entries. I try to move with the times and have one once on WAMO and once on Instagram, nothing yet on Pinterest.

I was lucky enough to win not one but two pairs of tickets for the Friday of the MTV Crashes Coventry gig at the Ricoh arena last week. I live locally so when I saw it was on I entered every comp going & it obviously paid off! I took 3 of my friends who were all really pleased to go. We had an awesome time, with the Kaiser Chiefs being the definite highlight! I also won a pair of tickets for the Saturday night but I didn't want to be greedy so I passed those on to a fellow comper

It's always great to win prizes for the kids and see their faces beam with delight. Toys R Us ran a blog comp to win a Dinotrux Mega chomping t-rex which I entered and won! This prize arrived on the same day as I received the email, by courier which was even more of a surprise! Toys R Us asked us to tag them a picture of the prize on twitter which we happily did. I think its great when people see the actual prizes being received (like on your winners story page!)Comping is a favourite hobby of mine and we are all getting more involved as a family. Won this super cute photo frame, it had pic of my kids when they are around the same age. There was 2 spaces so I put 2 pics of me and my husband in too! I didn't have to use actual photos as it was all digitally done and any inperfections erased. It is hanging pride of place in my freshly painted living room

I love slogan and creative competitions best and when I saw the Innocent smoothies festival slogan competition I knew I had to give it a shot! The festival was called the 'Unplugged Festival' and the slogan asked why you need to unplug from technology. I scribbled down a few words about being a total tech addict and within a week or so I had heard back from them saying I'd won! I just got back from the festival (who I took a friend to as well) and we had a fantastic time! We were put up in a huge bell tent and even given more goodies when we arrived like disposable cameras, umbrellas, mugs, cups and rain macs (real festival essentials!!). The sun was shining, the music and food were great and the best part was we were staying there completely free of charge! I always look out for slogan and creative competitions as I feel if you can come up with something imaginative you have a much better chance of catching the company's eye.
