  • Two months and two prizes!

I started comping in August this year and so far I have won two prizes.

The first in August was a brand new Nokia Lumia 520 with £390 of Vodafone top up vouchers from Vodafone Facebook.

More recently this month is a green Whirlpool Max microwave as seen on the Gadget Man show worth £180 from Woman & Home.

I feel really lucky and hope the luck continues.

    Happy comping everyone!

  • I love my hobby!

In August, I played a game on the Chupa Chups website but there was a glitch which meant you couldn't enter your details after you had won a prize. Various prizes were up for grabs, like lolly wheels, t-shirts and iPhone cases. My prize was the top prize of an iPad mini, but I didn't get my hopes up that I had actually won it, as the game had glitched, and there was a chance they could refuse me or offer me a lesser prize.

I messaged them on Facebook, having taken a screenshot of my winning message. I got a reply asking to send them my address and they would see what they could do. After what seemed to be the longest week of my comping life, i got a confirmation that they would be honouring my prize and the iPad mini would be shipped out within 4 weeks! Again, I still didn't get my hopes up that I had won it until I had it in my hands.

After 4 long weeks, and after my annual holiday, I came back to a parcel. It was my iPad mini! I had wanted an iPad ever since they came out but could never afford one.

Since I have won, I haven't had many wins since, but I'm not complaining, my iPad is the best win I've ever had. I love comping!

  • Good luck comes in three's

Have you heard the saying, bad luck comes in three's?...well that's just not true. I tend to find my prizes come in three's!
I noticed the pattern just recently after typing up my full prize list, I won three lots of tea competitions, three boxes of crisps, three lots of event tickets, three sets of Liora jewellery, three health food hampers, three Palmers competitions, three lots of Vosene shampoo sets, three cuddly toy chickens....and a partridge in a pear tree....er nooo, I didn't win that, however the list goes on, but you get the idea.
I would easily say my lucky number is 3, oh and did I mention, I won £40 on bingo last week, guess what my winning bingo number was?....yes!, it was 3!

So the day has finally come I have won my first prize, I am sooooo happy, only found out last night when I was going down the page on Facebook and came across a post from Angling Times saying the winner has been announced so I clicked on it and I saw my name. I was so excited that I was grinning like a Cheshire cat. I have won a 4-piece compact 11 foot float rod worth £100 which fits in very nicely with my other hobby fishing. Happy comping everyone and good luck. Would like to thank ThePrizeFinder team for this brilliant site. I am addicted to comping looking forward for more prizes now.

  • Fuel for thought

In the past two weeks I have been lucky enough to win two lovely prizes with fuel at the heart of them. The first was the Mars £100 worth of petrol on a card, and the second was the Weetabix Morrisons fuel promotion with a prize of a family bowling session and meal. Any win is exciting, but petrol is a biggie for me as I need my car for work, but I have to say that the Weetabix one excited me even more as it is something I can pass to my daughter and family who live 400 miles away in Newcastle upon Tyne. I don't see them as often as I would like, but keep trying to win train tickets. My Granddaughter is six and has never been bowling before, so the thought of her having fun with something I have sent up is by far the most wonderful prize for me!

  • Still got the Bug

I've been comping for a while but only casually (between full time work and being of two little terrors!) I have been thinking over the past couple of weeks how I haven't won anything since an instant win way back when and wondering whether the late nights are really worth it...
In the space of a week I have received a personalised Razor courtesy of Wilkinson Sword and today had a card from the postman to say he could post a parcel because it was too big! I dashed to pick it up, along the way thinking of competitions I have entered, what could it be? Some toys? A blanket? A chocolate hamper? I collected my prize, the lady handed me a small parcel which contained some Vosene for Kids, head lice repellent shampoo and detangling spray.
Although this wasn't a big prize with bells and whistles, I realised it was still a win and I do still have the comping bug!!

  • Rockin' to a win!

Aside from being a 'comper', I'm a theatre buff, not to mention an 80's child, I have been lucky enough to see the West End musical 'Rock of Ages' several times. I love the music of that era, and have been to L.A. and Hollywood to 'celebrity spot'.
When they announced the show was closing a few months ago, I wanted to try and get a ticket one more time, but 'fun money' for two tickets was thin on the ground. I put a flyer up on my wall at work to remind me of what a great time I had, and settled at that.
Last month, I saw a FB comp from their show page, asking you to creatively come up with a band name and album track in the style of the shows theme. I had so many ideas, and really went to town on my entry, trying to make it funny and theming it to the characters and show itself.
I couldn't believe it when I got an email to say I was one of the three winners of top seats, a backstage tour of the set, and champagne with the cast. Here is a photo of me 'posing' outside the Bourbon Room Bar' that is in the show. The cast were great and very friendly - a real 'money can't buy' experience!
Next up on my wall - a pic of the Sunset Strip to do the rock experience again, for real.

  • Set of Lovely Cornishware Mugs

After having a poor day I checked my emails and for a change I had an email from Tyrrells crisps saying I won on their Facebook competition.

I won a set of lovely Cornishware Mugs and I was shocked by how quickly I got the prize.

When I received the prize I opened the box and I was surprised to see I actually got some of their popcorn and crisps as well as the mugs I won.

  • A good week

Another good week for me in the world of comping, I've managed to win an iPad which I have been after for ages and to cap it off a holiday to Ireland to finish the week nicely. I'm now up to 4 holidays and breaks I need to fit in within the next 12 months. Travel agents? Who needs them!
Scottish Hot tub Lodge break next week, Christmas weekend all inclusive in a manor house in December, Israel in May and Ireland next August. Roll on!

  • Great start to October!

I have had a great start to October. On the 1st October I received an email saying I had won my wishlist from Stuffster which I was delighted by. My wishlist comprised of an array of goodies including dresses, some clothes for winter, bags, jewellery and makeup. To make the day even better, I also won a teddy from buildabear and a dress from Very. I hope that the rest of the month is just as good, if not, I am very happy with my wins this month! The picture below is my biggest win from September, a back to uni kit worth £350+! Although I'm at uni now, I decided to save the kitchen essentials, bedding, cushions, lamps etc for when I leave and have my own flat. I feel so lucky!
