  • Friday Freebie Win

I haven't comped for a while but started again recently and won a pair of horse riding gloves, an Olympic coffee container and my best win so far is this lovely summer dress from Klass Clothing. It's perfect for a cruise so I'm hoping to win one now so I can wear it on the deck of a ship. My husband couldn't believe my wins after only a few weeks of getting back into entering competitions again and he now keeps asking me how many I've entered each day. He wants some new golf clubs or anything golf related so here's hoping.

  • Expressly for the Horror!

Thank you for listing the Horror Screams Video Vault competitions on the Prizefinder website. I like entering film and DVD competitions as my husband is a lifelong film fan and we all enjoy having family time together watching films at the weekend.

I got a wem just the other day for one of our favourite films - Horror Express - and on blu-ray too! Here I am looking rather more happy than horrified, but the film is a firm family favourite and arrived in lots of time for us to terrify ourselves on Hallowe'en!

Like everyone, our life came to a grinding halt when coronavirus hit. Work from home and home school abruptly started and unfortunately my husband was made redundant. We had our holiday we had saved for 2 years was cancelled. We loved being together but, life became different and stressful. I knew I had to turn it around, lift our moods and make a plan. I needed to inject some structure back in to our lifes and take charge back from covid. I couldn’t afford to book another holiday, but I could win one! My family was skeptical and my husband joked ‘maybe mum can win us a holiday’
Well, I did. I entered a competition on Capital Radio I found on prizefinder. I thought I might as well put my name in the hat. 20 mins later, my phone rang… it was a number beginning with 0141 which I knew was Glasgow. Could it be? I answered and I actually could not believe it. IT WAS CAPITAL RADIO. The presenter said ‘do you know who this is?!’
In complete shock I kept shouting ‘it’s the radio! You are calling from the radio!!’ I’m pure excitement I ran upstairs where my husband lay in the bath, I just thrusted the phone at him. He said hello and the presenter explained, he laughed ‘Is this a wind up?!’ I was jumping up and down in the hall, my 6 year old little girl was so emotional and overwhelmed she just cried the whole time. She watched me enter but it was the realisation that you really could win. And we had. She followed me around like a lost puppy sobbing. My son called his nanna and gran from another line and shouted down the phone we’ve won a holiday.

Needless to say I kept up with the hobby. It’s one like no other. And real people like me and you win. Ordinary people, the very ordinariest like me. I won a holiday to Spain in luxury accommodation, a hotel sitting bang on the beach. All for the cost of a text message. I love most of all, the feeling of hope and excitement I have, you never know what’s round the corner. Dreams really do come true. If you believe that they can.

Isolating and feeling bored my little grand daughter was delighted when the postman arrived with a prize for her. It came from Sparkle magazine and was listed here on Prizefinder. A few weeks before her sister received an England Shirt (just up her street as she loves football) from another comp listed here. Their little brother is eagerly awaiting one for him. Think I will just have to order something and `pretend` if nothing arrives soon. Sometimes its the smile that matters, not the price of the prize.

  • Honda Red Bull win

I entered a comp to win tickets to the British Grand Prix. I didn’t win that but got a great runners up prize- a trip to the Honda Red Bull racing factory in Milton Keynes. We got to see where all the parts get made, the incredible technology, watching people put together the electronics of the steering wheels and the making of the carbon car body. We got to see the incredible trophy haul and look at the F1 cars close up. We saw the race bays and Christian Horner even said Hello to us as he walked past. Then we each got a goody bag to take home.

Luckily Spetember has been really warm as I won lots of items to use on the beach. From Coca-Cola a useful sized Beach Bag, a cooler bag for keeping all of my Cola-Cola cool, bats and balls to keep the kids amused. Also a very large beach towel - nice and bright so the kids could spot it as they came out of the sea.
This will also be useful for bringing to swimming lessons in the winter months.
One of my other wins was a bright yellow pair of sliders from Mikes Seltzers - the most comfy pair I have ever had..
Now the nights ae drawing in a bit I will be perusing Prizefinder for more competitions to enter.

  • Games Galore

I won a summer games competition I wasn't sure what games were included in the prize until they arrived but was amazed at the number and variety. I am particularly looking forward to playing Uno showdown. I have two excited girls as well. Plus there is something for everyone as I have a 6 year old and 13 year old. We can't wait to start playing. It might have been a "summer games" comp but this is perfect for the darker evenings. Only problem will be we are a very competitive family - this could be interesting

I have been busy this month entering the M&M’s competitions daily when I remember! Several times I won a free coupon for a pack of chocolates. Then I won a M&M’s Bundle. 2 T shirts, socks, cushions and chocolates.
On Twitter I won a book Beneath the Cliff by Sharon Gosling. A fabulous read and she had signed it for me.
Through Toppsta I won a book The Primrose Railway Children by Jacqueline Wilson. When it arrives I will pass it on to my grandchildren.
My big prize this month was from Hello Fresh. Three months’ subscription to Hello Fresh, Three months’ supply of Biotiful Kefir and a luxury Coffee Machine.
Most of these prizes I haven’t yet received so Octobers should be an interesting month.

I was thrilled to receive an email telling me I had won 4 tickets to see Frozen the musical in London thanks to Bauer Media. The whole audience were prize winners and the show was incredible. We had seats great in the Stalls which I could never justify spending on as a family of 4. I love musicals and this was our first show since Covid struck so we were so excited to be there at the first performance, it was also a magical way to end the summer holiday for my daughters. Theatre tickets have been on my wish list for such a long time so this amazing win has definitely inspired me to keep comping!

I am thrilled to say that I won a gorgeous wicker Fortnum & Mason hamper from a competition on The Prizefinder held by Silver Travel Advisor! It contains a bottle of wine, a caddy of tea, and many delicious items of food including preserves, biscuits, cheese straws, pate and more. I saw on the Fortnum & Mason website that this hamper costs £130. Wow! After about two years of winning nothing, this has cheered me up no end! It is a luxury item I would never have bought for myself and is such a treat - sharing the goodies with my family, of course!
