Our November wins!

Submitted by SuperluckyDi on Sun, 2011-12-04 09:05

One of the traditions that PrizeFinder forum members wanted to keep is the monthly round-up of everybody's wins. If you're going through a dry spell, it's a great boost to see that other people are still winning and which sites their prizes are coming from. I'm now going to be hosting our lists here on the PrizeFinder blog - each month I'll post a list of my own wins, where they were from, and a total prize value. I'm inviting PrizeFinder fans to do the same, by posting a comment on the blog with a list of your wins and (ideally) a total value. If anyone would like to volunteer to do the sums each month that would be great - the total will be announced on the following month's wins post!

So, to start you off, here's what my postman delivered in November… six of these wins were from the 'Skill-based' category here at The PrizeFinder (my favourite type of comp!)

Bob the Builder Toys - Friends comic (postcard entry) - £40
Shopping vouchers - Avocado Brotherhood (blog comp) - £20
Biscuits - Abel & Cole Facebook - £2
VTech Bath turtle - Halos n Horns Facebook - £17
Kids Puzzle - Blue Daisy Facebook - £10
Nirvana Spa day for 4 - Asda Tickled Pink website - £600
Selfridges vouchers - Simply Tap Facebook - £100
Roasting tin - Flora Facebook - £10
Solar powered charger - Magellan Facebook - £30
Cash - Jackpot party Facebook - £250
Cash - SnapPrize - £25 (check out the link on the homepage for details of this weekly comp!)
Beginners DVD - Facebook - £10
Toothbrush - Wisdom Facebook - £1
Heinz Secret Ingredient pack - Blippar - £15
Tesco Vouchers - My Favourite Recipes Facebook - £25
Duplo set - Mummy Mummy Mum (blog) - £25

My total for November = £1180

....now, let me know how YOU got on in November - and good luck for December!

Well done simm1, Is it possible to put a loose value on this? Otherwise it is impossible to realistically add it to the monthly totals whith any accuracy.

Espeja, we need to work on this situation right away! Are you on Facebook at all? There are often comps on FB with thousands of small prizes, and winning one of those is a great way to get up and running!

WEM to say I have won a 7 night ski holiday with Heat magazine/chalet girl. Hoping to go for my daughter's 18th next February. Totally shocked.

Details below:

A while ago you entered a competition to win a 7 night ski break and guess what, you won! The prize includes the 7 nights for you and a friend, transfers from Geneva airport, double or twin chalet accommodation in the Alps, breakfast, 3 course dinner, cakes and wine EVERY DAY! Plus £400 prize money towards flights. It's an amazing prize!!!

No idea of value.... any ideas for the tally would be appreciated.

5,000 entries for a few bottles of wine - that's not great odds is it? I bet if there was a question like 'Why do you want to win this prize' there would only be a hundred or so entries! Neil, do you enter blog comps or anything that takes a little more time and effort? If there are certain prizes on your wish list concentrate on those for a while, and see if there are any skill-based comps you can find to win those prizes. Good on you for persevering though, sometimes it can feel like a waste of time but you need to stay positive and keep hoping for that biggie!

Hi,
I won a lovely prize on one of the advent competitions
a Ringo all in one universal mount - and a base cover too.
But I haven't won an Ipad2 yet!
I'm going to sell it now as the cash would come in very handy for Christmas - any tips on where to sell quickly, and what price could I ask for the two?
Thanks

This is it,plus the base cover.
Merry Christmas

Jackie that's quite a specialist (and expensive!) item so I don't think it would sell well on eBay. Could you give your local Apple store a ring and ask them for a bit of advice?

I had an unexpected packet delivered today, tore it open and revealed ........ a pair of orange 'innocent drinks' socks! Value? Who knows - £1? I almost overlooked what looked like a gift card, but it's a voucher for a bottle of their fruit juice to the value of £1.99.

Only a teensy prize - but it made me laugh :-)

I had another unexpected parcel today. It turned out to be a Ryvita hamper, with a cheeseboard and knives, a Ryvita tin and assorted crackers and salsa/sauce. Estimate of the value - about £25.

I've not had any notification, and there was nothing in the parcel, so I'm not certain where it came from.

Hmmmm, as everyone finds it easier to put their new wins as a comment when they arrive - how about I start a new blog post for wins on the 1st of each month, and we can all add to it through the month? That would probably work better!

I'll start a new blog for December wins tomorrow, so you can either leave yours here or list them over there!
