Do you remember last year, everyone who signed up to receive The PrizeFinder newsletter was entered into a prize draw with the chance to win £1000? Well, we can finally announce the name of our lucky winner - Rachel Firth from Leeds!

After sending our initial congratulations email in February, and receiving a response from Rachel with her address details, we sent back a confirmation letter of her win and asked her to contact us to arrange delivery of her prize. We had hoped Rachel would be happy to pose for a photo with a big cheque, but as she didn't respond we think she thought it was a scam! We sent further emails and there was still no news from Rachel, so eventually we gave up trying to organise a presentation and posted out her cheque by recorded delivery. Congratulations Rachel! We hope you enjoy spending your prize money (and if Rachel is reading this, feel free to drop us a line or send us a photo!)

Every year we offer PrizeFinder users the chance to win cash prizes simply by signing up to our newsletter - but recently we've noticed that a large percentage of our lucky winners never respond to our congratulatory emails. In fact, back in March we had to choose FIVE winners before one responded! So please remember to check your inbox often, and your spam/junk folders too! In your mail software preferences, set a filter that flags any messages with the word 'Congratulations' or the phrase 'You're a winner' in - this will flag some junk mail too, but most winning messages DO contain the word 'congratulations!', so you hopefully won't miss them.

We sometimes do contact winners who aren't regular compers, who naturally think it's some sort of scam - it takes a while to convince them they've actually won! If you're not sure about a winning email, the best thing to do is Google the company and check out their website - you could give them a ring to check it's genuine. If you miss a call on your phone from a strange number, or are left a message asking you to call them - you can always search the number on Google to see who it is. Try not to be suspicious ALL the time - I've heard of promoters calling up winners who have hung up on them! - and if you receive a winning email then make sure you respond quickly and keep in regular contact until you receive your prize.

As a reminder, all PrizeFinder newsletter subscribers are entered into a quarterly draw to win £100 cash - our next one is on 30th September. And all NEW subscribers have the chance to win a Fiat Panda too! So sign up - and remember to check your emails regularly!
