Mother's Day is on 30th March this year, and we're already starting to see lots of Mum themed comps appearing. Read on to find out how you could be winning a prize for you AND your mum here on our blog!

Mother's Day is one of those occasions where you see the same style of competition crop up every year - you might need to write a poem about your mum, or share a photo of the two of you. Make sure you save your entry somewhere safe as you may be able to recycle it for a competition next year. If you're pleased with your poem or photo, why not print it off and stick it in your Mother's Day card too?

Here are some of our favourite Mother's Day competitions this year:

  • Tell TK Maxx why you love your Mum on their Facebook post and you could win a £50 voucher (ends 20th March 2014)
  • Win an iPad with Laimon Fresh - find it in your local supermarket, take a Mother's Day themed photo featuring your can or bottle and upload to their Facebook page (ends 30th March 2014)
  • And a few easy entry prize draws:

  • Win tea for two at the Ritz with Treasurebox (ends 30th March 2014
  • Win three months of Bloom & Wild flower deliveries in the Menswearstyle prize draw  (ends 20th March 2014)

Your comment needs to be approved so it won't appear straight away!

We’ll draw the winner at random from all comments after the competition closes on March 26th.

I have fond memories of walking along Fleetwood Beach with my Mum looking for shells and getting wet sand between our toes!

My favourite memory of my mum was when I was about seven, she used to come down the school and help out with arts and crafts. I always remember bursting with pride as she always looked dead glamorous compared to all the other mums haha!

My Mum was the world best ghost story teller. She would sit us kids around the coal fire then start rattling her cup as she began her story. By the end of her stories of howling banshee`s, or ghosts behind the walls rattling chains we would be scared witless. She would then tell one of use to go and get some coal from the backyard. We would all refuse and Mum would laugh with us at how engrossing her stories were.

My mum is sadly no longer with me but one of my favourite memories was of her smiling and dancing in her seat to "AbbaMania" at our local theatre as she loved Abba songs-but I should say she was in her 80's and by far the oldest member of the audience at the time. She looked so happy despite her illhealth.

My favourite memory is when we were away ski-ing. The snow was really heavy making the going tough especially for her (a skier), not so as bad for me (a boarder). What I remember most was that we laughed all the way down the piste, with the occasional squeal from her.

Mum could never co-ordinate the Sunday roast dinner timings and I always chuckle when I think of it. Some weeks the Yorkshire puddings would be either burnt or undercooked and other weeks we would have to eat the roast potatoes for dessert.

I was 11 and my Mum and I went to my secondary schools induction evening. Only we didn't remember much of the talk, as we had tears running down our cheeks and couldn't stop laughing - the bald man in front had a ladybird on the top of his head, and it was having a good old explore. You had to be there!

when I was little, the lino in our bedroom had small holes in it. Mom said it was where fairies sat to watch over us while we slept, but it wasn't. It was her stiletto heels that made the holes when she came to kiss us goodnight. She is 79 now and longer wears stilettos ( comfy shoes are more her thing) but I still think of high heels as being 'fairy shoes'.

Mum and Dad used to struggle for money when we were little but always made sure we had lots of lovely Christmas presents. One year, a long time ago now, she took us to the local town and bought us a painting set each with glitter paints. In those days, it was something special. I knew they was more than she could afford but she bought them and I have never forgotten it. It was so kind.

My fav memory of my Mum is the car rides we used to take together everyday. I was an elite gymnast so Mum spent practically her whole day in the car taking me to and from the gym/school/ballet and home. She was so encouraging, funny and has the worst road rage Ive ever seen....to the point I would duck down so no one would see me with her lol. Its memories like that that I wont ever forget!!!

Mums are great. When I fell ill (I'm good now) I had to have surgery and once I was released from my hospital stay I moved back into the family home to be looked after. It was like having my own nurse. She kept my stitches clean, my stomach fed and kept my spirits up for 3 months. Now, only a mother would do that. The memory of what she did for me will always be there and for all her mothering I thank her, hopefully with a free trip to Marks & Sparks. You never know! ;-)

My favourite memory was when I was university (a 3 hour drive away from home) I was feeling quite low and all my housemates were away for the weekend so i was alone. My mum came to stay, so we ordered takeaway, watched X factor, eat chocolate, and chatted for hours. We had such fun catching up and spending time together. She gave me such a boost just by being herself.

The highlight of the evening I must add - The cat climbed on to the sofa and suddenly started to pee on my mum! She was in such disbelief that she jumped up and screamed, then burst into laughter (I was rolling around in hysterics). Although probably not a highlight for her the memory of us both creasing with laughter over that daft cat makes me chuckle every time.

My mum passed away a few year ago, if there was one thing i learnt from her was to always check your bill and change. She would always check without fail on her weekly trip to tesco and if there was a price that had altered or wrong on her recipt she would have the manager out and be having a go at him and asking why something had gone up. they knew my mum by name which goes to show the difference as in todays world. she was a force to be reckoned with so they say. If i win i would like the other voucher to be sent to my sister as she and my mum are very alike and she is now a Foster mum and well worthy of a treat.

My favourite memories are those special little mother daughter moments mum taught me how to bake, my favourite was making welsh cakes which had been shown to my mum by my grandma, we also used to just like to sit and do a huge jigsaw. The simplest memories are my favourite

My Mum passed away last October, So this will be my First Mother's Day without her.

My favourite memory of her or one of them (there are loads!) is watching her sew thousands of individual blue sequins on to a fancy dress costume and sticking them on to accessories to turn me into a mermaid - I don't think she slept for 3 nights!

Where do you start when it comes to talking about your Mum? I suppose we should begin with how she created us, carried us as we developed from a single electrical charge to a newborn child, followed by the nurtured upbringing many of us enjoyed, education, understanding, humility and respect for everyone you meet. Wisdom in the form of sayings to live by such as "Life might seem like a race sometimes, make sure you stop once in a while to see the beauty around you"

Being there when love almost destroys your ability to move forward, being the rock by your side in times of need, the thorn in your side when things become too tough and you think you might give up, to being not just your mother, but the person you trust and always remember when it comes to being the person you became.

A single story would only highlight a moment, when a mother I am sure like mine and many others deserve so much more.

I remember how my mum taught me all about saving money by spending 5 minutes scraping every last scrap of margarine off a tub and its lid. I do similar things today.

My favourite memory with my mum was one day, we were walking the dog down the beach and saw two seagulls attacking a third one. My mum promptly ran towards them and started yelling for the seagulls to "Break it up" and to stop bullying the smaller seagull. Naturally the people around us started laughing although one old man said "good for her, breaking up a seagull fight". I was simultaneously proud and embarrassed - but it made me love her that much more!

I remember vividly when I was 7 my Mum saying she'd race me up the road. I remember running as fast as my legs would take me but my mum won.

The reason that memory is so special is because my mum developed Multiple Sclerosis afterwards and its my last memory of her being so active. x

When I was n hospital with cancer I remember her coming to visit me. She had her then 18 year old son carrying a set of Le Cruset saucepans and he clattered his way down the corridor.

My favourite memory with my mum is when we went to Blackpool together, 2 years ago after he friend dropped out last minute. She told me she had enjoyed herself that much, probably more than if her friend went, which made me feel happy that she appreciated i stepped in last minute.

The unconditional love. Even when I'd been swimming in the cold British sea and came out blue, she cuddled me and gave me her warmth. Even when I asked her for a hanky at my sister's wedding and gave it her back after wiping my nose. Even when she came to pick me up from nights out at 2 in the morning. Even when I hadn't tidied my bedroom. Even when I had lost things or did things very last minute. Even when I did something rubbish, she would tell me it was great. Thank you mum!
