Hello everyone! How is your week going, any nice wins to report? So the start of another month again – not quite sure how it is May already! I have been a bit distracted from comps again this month as both my girls have SATs exams in the next few weeks, and my youngest broke her arm at the start of the Easter holidays. With all this in mind you won’t be surprised to hear that I only won one little prize during April – a bottle of pink sparkly wine from Live Wines on Twitter. That being said I did think at one point that I wouldn’t win anything at all, so am quite pleased with this!
I know some of our members have been much luckier during April though, so let’s see what some others have been winning:
Villagefox had another great month winning such goodies as a 12-piece dinner set from the Ambrosia on-pack promotion and a Word search Junior game from a blog comp, and Dancemother won a day at the Mind & Wellbeing Festival with a reading, lunch, spa treatments and £300 towards accommodation and travel. Szekeres had a lovely win of four tickets and car parking at the Badminton Horse Trials, and The4ts broke their long dry spell by winning a Fujifilm Compact Systems Camera in a Twitter comp. Joan and her husband continued their winning ways last month by winning such lovely prizes as a fabulous all –expenses paid trip to San Francisco with Capital FM, a book from Nudge Books, and some other books from The Military History Magazine – what a successful couple they are! Hamish666 had another great month too winning such nice things as a Fireman Sam DVD from a blog comp, an Easter Gund toy from another blog, a Blu-ray from Hey You Guys and surprise DVD copy of Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid – keep up the good work!
The member who won my favourite prize this month has to be Mapleacorn – and what a stonker it was! They managed to bag a fabulous trip to California including return flights, car hire and five-nights’ accommodation for two people! This was won from a Facebook competition in association with MTV’s Geordie Shore programme and proves that amazing comps can be won from simple social media competitions – have a fabulous time! To top it off they even went on to win other goodies last month including a £50 Nest at Home voucher and £500 to spend at Rachel Simpson Bridal Boutique – what an amazing month you have had!
I don’t think I am alone having a slow month for wins this month, so if you are having a dry spell don’t worry. Use this time to refocus your comping efforts and think about what you would really like to win over the coming months - keep a Comping Wish List and check things off as you win them. This serves two purposes; it allows you to search for those specific prizes that are top of your list, as well as enabling you to look book on it during other dry spells and the end of the year to see what you have been lucky enough to have won. Don’t give up though, that next big win could be just round the corner!
Let us know how you get on with May’s comps by commenting below with your wins. Our Winner's Stories page is undergoing some maintenance at the moment, so send your prize photos direct to Jo Orr for a chance to win a £50 voucher!
I look forward to hopefully being able to share more of my own wins next month, and to reading all about yours!
Happy comping everyone, and lots of Lucky dust to you all!
I won a crate of skinny water on facebook. You had to comment on the post. I was picked at random as the winner. I was mentioned in a comment and then was sent a message by the company and the prize arrived a few days later.
Entered the code from a multi-pack of Walkers crisps, and won a multi-pack of Walkerss Crisps,
Two blog wins so far this month. A Bob the Builder DVD from AnyWayToStayAtHome and a zoohood onesie from MumsWineHQ (my son chose a Dalmatian one - great for the next World Book Day if it survives that long!)
Two more blog wins - a family ticket to Mister Maker Live from ChelseaMamma blog and a family ticket to the Geronimo Festival from RaisingtheRings blog. I spent a lot of time each morning gaining extra entries through twitter so I'm really pleased it has paid off :)
Is anyone else having issues with the competition tracker? After using it competitions disappear the next time I enter (including the save for later!) ones that I have entered say 'saved for later' leaving me with less than a third of competitions that should be there?!?
I've just won every girls dream, a pair of classic Christian Louboutin shoes worth £565! It was another FB comp from WamBam burlesque club. I thought this month was a dry month as I hadn't had anything yet (although I mustn't sound ungrateful as I'm off to California next month). This site has literally changed my life!
Fabulous win! Have a great time on holiday too x
After nothing for 5+ weeks, finally won something. Only a hairbrush from my weekly but hoping it is the end of my dry spell
After comping for nearly six months and not a sausage finally received a cheque through the post for a hundred pounds! It felt like a million!!
Hopefully now umwards and upwards, would love a holiday but hey ho cant complain
I won a Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk District And Other Stories book + a Signed Lady Macbeth Film Poster.from Hallam 2 :o)
No wins for three weeks :( I've cheered myself up by spending vouchers I won a few months ago #compingmotivation Fingers crossed for June everyone!
Couple of little wins to end the month, a bottle of Jose Cuervo tequila and some tumblers, and dinner for 4 at a local restaurant
So this month I have won £500 from Kiss FM (still waiting for the cheque does anyone know how long it takes to arrive?)
A Cocofina hamper from twitter worth around £20
A Eat Real hamper again on twitter still awaiting for that to arrive.
