I was very pleased to receive a prize hamper of Horlicks goodies today. This was a win through Instagram. I even got to choose which Horlicks new shake to try (I opted for the Healthy Body one!). Good for my New Year's resolutions! I enter roughly 25 Instagram competitions a day. The prizes tend to be small but exciting when they arrive! I have also won shampoo and conditioner through Instagram, a Panettone and a bundle of beauty products. Carry on comping everyone! You never know what the New Year may bring!

I’ve had a very dry spell all year. I was not feeling optimistic about the advents even though I usually win something at Xmas even if small. But December has been the best ever. Started when my partner won a £30 Molton brown cracker on the daily game which counts as my win as he gave it to me. Then won a meal for 2 plus bubbly at my local coppa
Club restaurant - local comp advent . It had about 20 entries! Then the big one. In the semi finals of World Cup I was drawn to win a holiday to Oman. So 126th of 128 prizes. Then a John Lewis hamper with just you holidays 5 day advent. And today checked to see if a payment had gone in my bank and there was £1000 from Mastercard. Never had a run like this. Just shows you never know

For more years than can mention I have tried to win a posh hamper. This year I had an email from Pink Lady Apples to say I had won this lovely hamper worth (wait for it) £500. It is massive (over 3 feet long) and filled with gorgeous food and drink. Champagne, wines, sherry, a ham, smoked salmon, cheese, tea, biscuits and coffee in lovely tins and a host of sweet things including a pannerone bigger than my head!. I am going to use the hamper (after the dog has had a good sniff) as a coffee table in the snug. I love comping!

It’s out with the new, and in with the old, for me this year, in the shape of a 50 year-old, limited edition bottle of whisky…. courtesy of the Spar/Whyte & Mackay competition. Only 1750 bottles were ever produced, and it’s estimated to be worth around £1500! At that price I’m not sure I dare open it, despite my husband’s eager pleas. I don’t comp very much these days, as my favourite tiebreaker comps are almost as rare as this prize. So what a lovely way to end what has undoubtedly been a rather trying year for many of us. Cheers!

Knew their would be a few footballing competitions about with the World cup on
and spotted this one from Carling. You had to take part in a penalty shootout which was great fun. Had a little problem at first with rotating screen to claim prize but managed to sort that. Carling were very efficient promotors and I received the prize within 2 weeks of winning. I also thought I would had won one Umbro shirt , but on reading the email more carefully found it was four. It read one shirt for you and 3 for your mates. No shortage of mates to take the T-shirts off my hands as they are good quality. Hoping for good luck now with the Advents that Prizefinder has helpfully listed.

Christmas came early for me this year, when I won the mystery travel items prize from the Finding the Universe & Independent Travel Cats’ blog. Entry was simple; you just have to be signed up to the newsletter, and then enter details for any or both of the two prizes on offer each month. The prize included one item of my choice - I went for an Aeropress Go coffee maker - and a very large box of assorted goodies. These ranged from an eye mask, bookmark and travel toiletries, to a top-of-the-range photographer’s backpack. Also included were the tiniest speaker I have ever seen - very useful for holiday music, some pocket-sized binoculars and a couple of really cool travel pillows and shawls. In addition, there is a fantastic selection of travel-sized toiletry items, to add to the now-depleted stash of stuff I have - er - “borrowed” from various hotel rooms I have stayed in over the years.

Finish had a useful comp, a year's supply to win.
That sounded very handy, so I got my entry in.
Then an email said I'd won! Soon a box was here.
There's everything I'll need to clean my dishes for a year.
Lots of washes free of charge, salt and rinse aid too!
Plates and mugs will sparkle, glasses shine like new.
I'm thrilled that I have won all this, my efforts have succeeded.
Perhaps not the most exciting prize but certainly most needed!

I recently entered a competition on The Prize Finder to win days out in half term with Visit Exeter. The competition had lots of prizes and I recieved an email to say I had won a month's self defence classes. I emailed the organiser back and explained we live about 45 minutes away from Exeter and were hoping to win a day out - I thanked her and said I hoped they could pass the prize on as we couldn't use it. She emailed me straight back and offered me another prize - tickets to an escape room! We went for my partners birthday and had a great time and even managed to escape!

I won an amazing prize this month! Splenda on Instagram were running a baking competition in October for the best bake made with their sweetener product. So as it was half term I baked a Halloween cake with my little girl using Splenda, and we decorated it with lots of Halloween sprinkles and decorations, and it won! The prize was brilliant - a gorgeous Nespresso Virtuo coffee machine which now has pride of place in my conservatory, plus about 100 pods which will keep me going for quite a while, and also lots of Splenda sweetener! One of my favourite prizes I’ve ever won!
