Win a Luxury Picnic Hamper with National Picnic Week (CLOSED)

Hello everyone!  How was your weekend, any nice wins to report?  Can you believe that I am still waiting for my first June win – going through my worst dry spell in years!  To top it all it was the Isle of Wight Festival at the weekend, and hubby and I must have entered hundreds of competitions between us to try and win tickets but all to no avail!  We had to make do with catching a vague waft of music floating on the breeze, and catch up coverage on the TV – fail!

Still, at least the weather has been good the last few weeks, so can’t really complain.  We have been able to get out and about as often as we can, and weekend activities really start to ramp up now here on the Island with the Round the Island Race at the end of the month and various other sailing events and festivals to go and see.  It does mean that my comping time is taking a back seat again though, which is a drawback of the summer but one that I can deal with.

One thing I do love about the summer months is packing up a picnic and heading off for a Greer Mystery Tour.  Nothing better than making a load of sandwiches, throwing them in a picnic hamper with crisps, homemade cakes, fruit and a flask of coffee and seeing where the road takes you – we always manage to stumble upon some great picnic spots this way!  Did you know that this week (13-21 June 2015) is National Picnic Week – what better way to get the family outdoors for some al fresco dining and fun!

To celebrate The PrizeFinder has a fantastic exclusive competition for all our members to win a fabulous four person picnic hamper!  The Buckingham Luxury Wicker Picnic Hamper comes complete with built in chiller compartment, blanket and enough plates, wine glasses and accessories to take four people on a picnic in comfortable style!  To enter this competition you need to be a registered PrizeFinder member, logged into your account and leave me a blog comment below with what your picnic essentials are.  For me it has to be homemade sausage rolls – infinitely more tasty and satisfying than the flabby shop bought varieties.  One comment per person please and remember that comments are moderated and won’t appear immediately.  One entry will be drawn at random after the closing date of 23:59 on Sunday 21st June 2015 – Good luck!

Happy comping everyone, and lots of Lucky dust to you all!

Kirsty x

homemade sausage rolls dipped in hummus! Fresh juicy strawberries and homemade cheese scones! I am pregnant so could happily eat all these together at the moment!

I am happy with sandwiches and crisps but my husband insists that we have pork pies and my son always wants a tub of strawberries.

There has to be sandwiches and crisps and pasta and bean salads and berries and chicken drumsticks and loads of other stuff. Even better with some chilled champagne. Truth is that whatever is on offer it always tastes better in the open air when you've found some lovely grass to sit on a sunny day

I always pack chutneys, (especially caramalised red onion, which is my favourite) as they really enhances the flavour of all thse picnic staples like cheese, suasage rolls and sandwiches - I buy the little pots for convenience.

my must have is my homemade salsa, very hot as i use scotch bonnet chilli's, other must haves are olives, fresh bread, dips and loads of salad. my picnic is strictly vegan so most of my food has to be homemade!

Home made Victoria Sponge cake with clotted cream. It's so light that it doesn't last long (and it matches lovely with my gingham red and white blanket!)

My pasta salad with eggs, tomatoes, cucumber & cheese cubes, mayo/yoghurt dressing with chives and loads of freshly ground black pepper. Great on its own or with meatballs, sausages or grilled meats.

When I go on a picnic I like nut roast, veggie sausage rolls, veggie scotch eggs, a salad bowl, all kinds of fruit and soft drinks and something sweet and totally indulgent to finish it off.
