Share Your October Wins

Hello everyone!  How is your week going, any nice wins to report?  Well here we are in October – may I be the first to say, where did September go?  School started back a month ago and already summer feels like a lifetime ago.  We are all back into the swing of early mornings, packed lunches, ballet classes, tae kwon do practise, after school clubs and lots of homework.  Still, for me this is one of the best times of the year.  The heat has gone out of the sun, the evenings are cool and darker, leaving lots of time for me to get on with my favourite hobby – comping!  September was predictably very busy for me, but I did still manage to win four nice prizes over the month:

  • A Polka Doodles crafts CD-ROMs and stamps set, from Papercraft Essentials magazine
  • An Alpro smoothie cup and a carton of coconut milk, this may have been a freebie
  • A Budweiser mini BBQ, form Bargain Booze on facebook
  • A Surprise bundle of Twozies collectable toys, addressed to my daughter but not sure where from

So I am pleased to say I have made a start on my Christmas stash with these prizes – my girls were allowed one each of the blind bags from the Twozies prize, and I have stashed the rest away for stocking stuffers and little gifts for the festive season.  I do now need to up my game though, as I am on a mission to win lots of lovely things for my daughters this year.  We already have the main gifts for the youngest, and the eldest only really wants a phone, so anything else I win will be lovely extras I wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise.  What’s on your festive Comping Wish List?

Anyway, let’s take a look at how some of our other lovely members got on during September 2016:

Villagefox started the month well by winning some tickets to Diggerland and went on to win a bandana bib, some tickets to Ripley’s Believe it Or Not in London, some Pete’s Dragon merch, a crime novel and some Suicide Squad merch – well done!  Joan continued her winning ways this month by bagging herself a tractor cutter set and a huge tube of Revive Body Gel, and Mapleacorn won a Denby afternoon tea set, a luxury meat hamper and a £25 voucher for a local restaurant – yum!  A big shout out has to go to Kayaaa as she has had a great month winning such lovely things as an Apple iWatch, a £100 High Street voucher and £100 of Spanish wine – what a great haul for the month!  Kelliesteed recently returned to the comping world and has already had a great run winning a £500 desk, a £50 craft voucher, a travel book, some Muddy Puddles wellies and Batman Story cubes!  Buttons23 had some fab wins this month including a £50 shopping voucher, some Pete’s Dragon merch and toddler shoes worth £50, and Kslade won two t-shirts and a £10 Love2Shop voucher – all fab prizes!  Kazzabarbiehas cheered herself up while being home on long-term sick at the moment by winning £100 of make up and some Rekorderlig cider cocktails, and Lauralove won a chick lit book and a beautiful dress - well done!  Hutchy73 won a delicious 12 tubs of Haggen Dazs ice cream as well as an iPad Mini and some outdoor toys, and Jdore1964 had a surprise kiddie’s book turn up!

Maryhyp has had an amazing September – a real super-star!  She managed to win a £2,000 holiday voucher, a studio tour of Classic FM, an afternoon tea voucher, £150 and a USB stick – wow!  It just goes to show you really can win some big, impressive prizes from large brand names, just by entering simple prize draws – got to be in it to win it!

We have had a few members complain this month that although they have been entering lots of comps they don’t seem to be winning prizes.  My advice for them would be to be consistent, spread your entries around, enter local and low entry, enter creative and enter frequently.  Be selective about the comps you enter too, only entering for things you really want to win, and not wasting your time on things you don’t.  I generally say allow three months of consistent comping before you see result, but also try and do a range of comps – local entry, creative, email, text, social media and even postal!  The more kinds of comps you do the better your chance of winning – don’t lose faith, keep comping and stay positive!

Let us know how you get on with October’s comps by commenting below with your wins.  Don’t forget to upload a photo of your wins too for a chance to win a £50 voucher here.

I look forward to hopefully being able to share more of my own wins next month, and to reading all about yours!

Happy comping everyone, and lots of Lucky dust to you all!
