Lots of you are always grumbling about your lack of wins, so hopefully I've found a competition that you're almost GUARANTEED a prize if you enter - but it WILL take you a little bit of effort to enter (and unfortunately, unless you're Dale Winton, the prize won't be much use to The PrizeFinder's male readers!)
Revlon are promoting their PhotoReady make up range with a Facebook promotion. To enter, you need to share a beauty tip - either a make-up tip or a tip for striking the perfect pose. Then upload an accompanying photo, and submit! Now, it's not as hard as it sounds - if you don't have an amazing beauty tip, you could always think of a daft one that will amuse the judges! How about using your brown eyeliner to draw a beauty spot on top of a particularly annoying pimple? My make-up tip was to surprise friends at a fancy dress party by drawing on a superhero mask in black eyeshadow... I already had the perfect photo from a previous competition entry!
500 winners will get a Photoready Primer (worth £11.99) and 500 will get a PhotoReady Eye Primer (worth £9.99). In addition to the prize draw, you can also choose if you'd like your tip to go forward to the judging stage, where 20 shortlisted entries will go into a gallery for a public vote to decide who wins the 'Ultimate PhotoReady Prize', whatever that may be! You need to enter at www.facebook.com/RevlonUK before 30th April.
Skill-based competitions like this one are where I win most of my prizes, and lots of them pop up on beauty websites, so it's worth 'Liking' them on Facebook and checking regularly for comps. Last week I spotted that Maybelline were giving away 250 mascara and eyeliner sets on Facebook in a similar competition - you had to upload a short video saying why you wanted to win. I made a quick video on my phone, and was chuffed when the prize arrived a few days later. Inside the Jiffy bag was a letter with details of another competition - upload a short video review of the mascara and you could win £200 vouchers. I did a 30 second review - and I won the vouchers!
With comps like this you might be put off because of the effort - but it's loads of fun to enter them and with the large number of prizes available, chances are you're likely to get lucky, so if you're having a dry spell why not give it a go?
Great tips, do you have a good tip for an easy to use video editing free software to download at all.
Thanks and well done on your prize
I've only used iMovie and the Flip software (that came with the camcorder) on my Mac, so I haven't much experience. However there's a recent post on Yahoo Answers with a good list that you could check out - good luck! http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120325084439AAropdY
Thanks Di, have had a go. My first ever photo entry competition!
I normally shy away from these types of comp but what the hell! Don't suppose I shall win but I guess you have to try.
Good luck Hencat! :)
