My mum is deaf and going blind and she's been after a Kindle for a few years because she can't read normal books anymore. I entered as many comps as I could for one and finally won a Kindle Fire HD on WE BUY BOOKS on FB, in October after you had listed it.
I wish you could have been here on Christmas day when I gave it to her. This photo shows her delight at opening it. If it were not for you and We Buy Books it wouldn't have happened, so thank you. x

I was lucky enough to win an amazing trip to The Savoy with afternoon tea and skating at Somerset House with the London Evening Standard. Skating was something of a disaster since I fell on my bum and had the biggest bruise I've ever seen, however the Savoy is utterly amazing. The room was stunning, tea was lovely and the staff were great. There was an awards ceremony that night too so we spotted some stars - Hugh Grant, Billie Piper, Kevin Spacey and Boris Johnson. I never used to win anything, even though I would religiously enter any competition I came across. But I started to have some success last year around October time. I won a Kindle, and Agent 47 Hitman Xbox game limited edition with figure and a gyro remote control helicopter 61cm long. I received some other things here and there in the post. I won some tickets to the Rockness festival in Scotland and didn't think I would go as I live on the south coast, but I hired a car and drove all the way. It ended up being the best weekend of the year. I love the feeling you get when a package arrives and unless you have received a notification email sometimes it's a complete surprise. So on 17th December this year I said to my sister I haven't won anything in ages! On the 18th received an email from Under the Christmas Tree to inform me that I had won their 12 days of christmas toy hamper which includes, Vtech Innotab 3, Kurio 4s Touch, Catchphrase game, Logo Billionaire board game, Mask n Ask game, Flying Fairy by Spinmaster, Hasbro rebelle hearbreaker bow, Forever Friends CD, DHC Cleansing oil, Sent With A Loving Kiss Dark chocolate collection, Doc McStuffins Interactive Time for your check-up doll & Lambie & Meccano Evolution 4×4 truck. I am still waiting for a few things to arrive. I am planning to give some of these items to Julia's House children's hospice where children are terminally ill as it is very close to where I live, hoping to spread a little joy with my success.

After a few years break from comping I decided to enter the advent competitions in December hoping I might win a small prize or two for Christmas presents. I won a Nacho bowl and Nacho kit, a covered cat litter tray, some cleaning stuff and a case of Dorset Cereal's museli.

But then I had an email - I'd won the Recombu Winter Wonderland Advent Competition big prize!!! A Samsung 32" SMART LCD Television, an Apple iPhone 5c 16GB and a Triple Supercar Driving Virgin Experience Day.

The timing was perfect as my phone contract is due to expire soon and I was starting to look for a new phone, and I was thinking about buying a new television for my bedroom in the sales so this is perfect! And to top it all off it was delivered by courier on Christmas Eve. I am so happy!!!

I have been entering competitions on and off for a few months now, with little success. So as the Christmas holidays came around and I had much more time on my hands and I decided to invest it in entering competitions, and it is already starting to pay off.
I won several smaller prizes including some teabags, galaxy chocolate, art prints, and monogrammed shorts. Then mid December I got an email to say I had won a month supply of Alibi drinks (which are some of my favourite drinks).
My goal for the next year, is try to set aside time to enter competitions every day.

A little while ago I entered a House of Fraser competition on Pinterest to win a Heston Blumenthal Scrape mixer pro worth over £300. It was a baking competition, sharing an image of a cake and I saw all of these picture perfect frosted cakes on their page. I thought I had no chance, but entered my blackberry cake anyway. It was basic, easy, no frills cake.

Imagine my surprise when I was emailed to say I had won. I was over the moon! I thought only really great cooks won cooking and recipe competitions. I now know better and encourage anyone to give it a go, you might just win!

I've had a fab year comping, lots of books and toiletry wins. I even managed to win 2 class sets of books which helped Santa fill his sack at the school I work at. I joined ThePrizeFinder a couple of days ago. I'd always wanted to make a hobby out of comping but never had the time. I recently had my first child so I'm on maternity leave from work and have found myself with a bit of free time when my son is sleeping so thought I'd give the comping a proper go. I looked through the competitions yesterday and a competition offering a Gold Wedding Planner Package caught my eye, I thought I'd give it a go as it would be a lovely prize and despite being engaged for a while my fiance and I have never gotten round to starting to plan anything. I had a little time to check my emails this morning between the festivities and couldn't believe my eyes when I'd received an email back saying I'd won the competition! The win made my Christmas day a little bit more special - a bit of beginners luck and a lovely Christmas surprise have just made my day!

Well what a fab end to a great comping year.
I thought last December was great but this year was even better.
