  • I won a fab duvet

I entered a Rafflecopter comp, ( I was a bit sceptical about them) for a goose feather duvet, worth far more than I could have afforded! The comp was a Mama Geek blog one, I now do loads of blog comps and it's a great way to get to know more folk! The duvet arrived in just a couple of weeks and it's great, we had been talking about getting a new one so this was smashing, so cosy!

After entering competitions for over two years I have finally won one that people are jealous of.
I entered a competition run by Zannusi to win the chance of Gino D'Acampo to visit my home to make pudding. I had to comment on why I deserved or wanted it, my answer was "When I met Gino last year at a food festival I promised him that he would cook for me one day".
After a few weeks to my surprise, instead of the police coming to arrest me for stalking, I received an email informing me that I had won. I am not ashamed to admit that I did scream, cry and jump around the house.
Last week Gino arrived at my home with everything needed. After chatting about everything and anything and nibbling on anti pasti he provided, we finally pulled on our aprons.
We made cherry tiramasu with limoncello ice cream. Although I was not interested in the pudding I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I am still pinching myself now.

I have had a very quiet last ten days but since starting in July I haven't won the big one but had a few wins totalling around £500. I even persuaded a few of my family to join in but as yet they not been very lucky! Just as I decide enough is enough I have a win and the thrill keeps me going. Wins to date include locks and garden shed alarm, coat for my toddler, tickets to various shows and events and am waiting at the moment for my Halloween hamper. Keeping my fingers crossed for this week.

I was also lucky to win a huge haul of Little Mix goodies from Collection Cosmetics which I have put into my daughter's Christmas stocking.

My luck is definately changing, as I have won some really nice prizes in the last couple of months

  • Warm fuzzy feeling

This is my first ever post on here. I started comping over 12 months ago after I had my first little win of a pen. I had the bug, I had this warm fuzzy feeling that real people do win these things. Some months there can be a few little wins, then it drys up to no wins at all, then maybe one big win, but however big or small it still gives me the same fuzzy feeling. I have won all sorts from chocolate to Alton Towers tickets, to VIP behind the scenes at Silverstone F1 last year. This month had really been a quiet one until I got an email 4 days ago from Free Radio to say I had won £200 Evans cycles vouchers. My god, I had a happy husband. That's his dream prize as he loves his cycling.

After recently buying our first home and moving in (luckily having our post redirected) I got a big envelope through the door which had gone to my old address. Inside was a bathroom brochure and a letter congratulating me on winning £4,000 to spend in the brochure! Needless to say we were thrilled as the bathroom was last on the list to be sorted! All this 4 months after winning my holiday to Majorca which we came back from in October. Can't believe it! Thanks PrizeFinder!!!

  • Dream come true

I have been comping for around 2 years now and had a few lovely wins but yesterday my wish came true. I have been entering comps on the AO (Appliances Online) Facebook page for a while now and would live in hope that one day that I would get that all important call during the "live show" or even for them to say my name. They ran a competition on their Youtube channel where all you had to do was count the cans of beans in the fridge freezer (sounds simple). Well after 40 mins of pausing & rewinding I got my answer. Leaving my details I never thought for one minute I would be the one. I had my baby on my knee watching in anticipation when they were announcing the winner of the various comps running then it came to the "beans" they put the winners name on screen and couldn't believe my eyes, it was me, I done it, I won. I screamed so loud the baby nearly jumped out his skin, my other two boys came running in to find me in tears. This is such an amazing win for me as my current fridge freezer is on its last legs and wasn't sure if it would actually make it through Christmas. I still can't believe I won but it gives hope to everyone, never give up, keep trying & entering as you just never know.

It's been a good month for me, and even though this has been the month I have won the least amount of competitions, the prizes have been amazing. At the start of the month I won a Google Nexus 7 with the Sunday Times. Couldn't believe it as I enter these every single week usually without luck! Finally I won a Nexus which I would never have been able to afford otherwise. The middle of the month was pretty quiet but I won a stunning pair of high heels that will be perfect for the party season. To top the month off, I only went and won 2 x factor final tickets for the Saturday night!. Followed by another 2 with a different company, and finally another 2 for the Sunday night. So 6 tickets all in for the full weekend! December is gonna be amazeballs! Here's a picture of the fab shoes I won :)

  • Back to my comping roots

When I first started comping I concentrated largely on skill based comps. Baking, Poems, Tie Breakers, Photo's etc. I did very well from them as well as enjoying them but as time went on I got swept up in other kinds of comps. Doing more and more Facebook, blogs, twitter and other comps while the creative one's I entered became few and far between.

While I was still winning most weeks it was not at the same level of wins or for that matter giving me the same satisfaction when I won.

I had really lost my mojo and was thinking about stopping. Then I decided to go back to my comping roots and try my hand at skill and creative comps again. So instead of doing hundreds of comps a day some with 1000's of entries I would concentrate of doing one or two skilled a day and doing them well.

Then when I have no skill comps to do I top up with others. If I am in a hurry I might do Re-tweets if I have more time I might do blog ones.

I basically cherry pick the one's I REALLY want. Yes I enter less but I am not breaking my back trying to enter ridiculous amounts each day. And it's working...

So far this month I have won £100 cash, £40 Lamp, Nokia Lumia, lot's of sweeties, a load of Ted Baker goodies worth £150 and other bits all from skill comps! I've also won a few none skilled comps so it's been a good month.

With Christmas coming up it's Advent time and as much as I love them I am not going to let me skill comes get neglected while I do hundreds of them... I will pick 20 or so and stick to them.

Sometimes to renew your coming MOJO all you need is to review your comping habits.

The photo is the entry that won me my lamp.. You had to recycle old light bulbs and post a pic.
