Meet Our Latest Winners!

I am probably the least domesticated person you can meet, yet, at the end of 2012, I managed to win some lovely “domestic” prizes for the home. Back in May 2012, I submitted my husband’s Chocolate and Caramel Cake Recipe to the Aldi Facebook CookBook Comp and won £50 of Aldi vouchers. He is the chef and the domesticated one. In October, that same recipe won us a Fabulous Kitchen Creations Mixer from a Russell Hobbs Face book comp, where you had to submit a recipe that reminded you of home. In November I won a Karcher Window Vac from SixtyPlusSurfers online comps and to top it off, just before Christmas, I won a brilliant new dishwasher from a Facebook comp run by 365 Electrical. I would class myself as the biggest hazard in my own kitchen, and prefer to be socialising, and so I thought this lovely collection of “domestic” prizes was quite ironic really! I am very grateful for all of them!

With the arrival of our new baby daughter, I was concentrating on Kids & Toys section on ThePrizefinder. I was delighted to receive an email to let me know I’d won a fab white and orange bath set by The Neat Nursery Co. that included a baby bath, a top and tail bowl and a handy organizer box for all babies toiletries. I won the competition via Yoomi on Facebook by answering a question and entering my details. It’s something I wouldn’t have splashed out on (forgive the pun!) so it’s a nice little treat.

Other small wins this month included a four pack of 9-bar energy bars on Facebook by entering my details, vouchers for Bear Nibbles on Facebook by playing a spin the wheel game, a voucher for a carton of Cravendale Milk by entering my details on their website and a pair of cooking tongs from Danepak by playing a game and entering my details.

I was looking to see who was supporting Justin Bieber on his UK Tour when I came across his website and it was offering a prize of 4 meet and greets. I thought I would sign up not thinking that I'd win or anything. 2 days later I had a phone call saying I won! It was the best moment of my life meeting him and now I'm signing up to every competition.

Currently I am unable to work due to Fibromyalgia which really restricts my day to day life as well as my bank balance. I started comping a couple years ago and my first win was a MASSIVE bunch of flowers, bottle of champagne and some chocolates. That was it - from then on I became obsessed with entering. Without the chance of winning I would not have experienced my first festival, going to the Harry Potter exhibition as well as currently going through Invisalign braces (my dentist told me I really needed braces yet couldn't afford it)! I have won bits and pieces here and there and each win is like the first - a real high! I enjoy comping so much, I have now roped in my other half who enjoys entering every now and again. Now on to my next win...

I had all but given up hope of winning a prize in February and was reading the winners blogs. One winner had found out a prize by googling her name. So I gave it a go and was so surprised to find mine on Byoutiful you with a list of Advent Calendar winners. It said winners had been notified by email, but if not to contact them. I received a lovely response late last evening and they are sorting my prize out on Monday. They think maybe their email went to my spam, so it just shows, it pays to check spam! I understand it is a Ted Baker Tote bag so I am absolutely delighted. Advent isn't over yet! So thanks Prizefinder for all your hard work at Advent time. And thanks for the advice of the bloggers.

This morning, a padded envelope arrived from Yours magazine. Sadly, not the holiday I have been dreaming of, but a DVD "Footloose in Bavaria - A scenic walking trail through Germany's Oberpfalz ergion of castles, medieval towns and villages. So the good news is I can go "travelling" whenever I want, but staying warm in the comfort of home!

And who knows when the next win is going to come along - you never know - so keep comping!

I've only been putting serious effort into comping in the past month. I tend to go for the newly listed competitions and the closing soon ones, thanks to Theprizefinder for the ease of finding these comps. I do the daily ones every day without fail. I decided to enter a photo comp with news shopper to win £500 of clothes from simply be for entering a fashion fail. I swallowed the embarrassment and went ahead and uploaded a horrendous pic (we all have one somewhere lol). To my surprise today I got an email saying I have won!! I cant believe it! I have been trying to scrimp money together to buy some clothes for my holidays in May, which is my first holiday in 10 years, so this has been a much needed prize. I have also won a Tropical Sun hamper, and some Wood Budz earphones from the Belviour daily comp.
I still cant believe I have won such fantastic prizes, and in a short space of time. If i can do it anyone can.

2013 has started quite well for me, competition-wise. So far I have won a Kingsmill apron (through their Bouncing Bagels Facebook app comp), a lovely Dove moisturiser set in a toiletries bag (from BrandRefill (on Facebook), a bottle of Rioja wine through Team Spirit (also on Facebook), but my best win so far this year has just arrived!

Through Delicious magazine I am now the proud owner of a case of 6 bottles of Codorníu Brut NV Cava, 6 prestige cava glasses and 2 fizz stoppers!

It just goes to show that we can all win the luxurious prizes, as well as the smaller ones. Every little win gives us a buzz, but when 2 large boxes arrive at your door on a Friday afternoon, it really does restore your faith in the hours spent doing competitions!

I think we will definitely be toasting the success of doing competitions this weekend – cheers everyone!

With the amount of snow we got in January, I was glad to see a lot of competitions asking for snow pictures. One in particular caught my eye on Facebook as there were few entries, so I posted 2 pictures I had took that day.

Every day I checked to see who else had entered and at the end of the competition only 9 people had submitted snow photos!

The company, MU Cheese, granted all entries with a month's supply of their cheese (not just 1 winner as first posted) and today I received my prize, my first this year and my first win with a photo!

This shows it really is worth your time to enter competitions with that extra effort.

I started comping last year in the summer. I never thought I would win anything but I thought I would try it out for a couple of months and see how it went. After a month and a half I finally got my first win -
Shampoo and conditioner which I got to choose from a like and share competition on Facebook.
After that I won an iPod nano from Old Jamaica, I was sooo excited by now I was hooked.
Since then I have won £100 bar tab, Kindle, a Google Nexus tablet and lots of other wins.
I'm so glad I took up comping because I have won a few things that I otherwise couldn't afford.

I started doing a few competitions just before Christmas (mainly on Facebook as I'm always on there!) , Advent ones and a few others and to my utter disbelief I won an iPhone 5 in a photo competition! I couldn't believe it. I have never won anything EVER! I was ecstatic, what a prize! My friends all thought that you could never win in these competitions but I proved them wrong! I even won 2 things on one day once and it gave me the confidence to carry on! My best advise is to keep trying - you gotta be in it to win it is sooo true. I have tried to do more on Twitter, and some where a little more effort is required, not just answering a question, like the photo comps. I kept going and won these prizes in December and throughout January:
