  • Jeego Card Win

    Posted by Emmakew

    Tuesday, April 2, 2013

I didn't realise a comment made by my son Stefan at Christmas and which made us all laugh would actually end up winning a competition a few months later.
Jeego were looking at quotes from children to be turned into an online animated card. At Christmas my son had tried on my festive jumper and when Grandma had told him he would grow into it, Stefan ran into the kitchen to tell me that Grandma says I will grow into it but I don't want too.
I sent the quote to Jeego and was shocked when they rang to say it was the winning quote - The result was stunning an animated Stefan appearing as an electronic card on their online card site.
A really nice and surprise win.

  • I won a Kindle Fire

    Tuesday, April 2, 2013

Back in January I was entering competitions from ThePrizeFinder as I do daily and never thought anything of it. I was yet to win from using this site and to my surprise I got an email to say I had won a Kindle Fire from Tesco Tech Support Team, I was over the moon! I literally screamed I had to call them to arrange delivery and the lady I spoke to was so happy for me. A week later it arrived and I was even more gob smacked as it was indeed a Kindle Fire HD and I can now carry on entering comps through my Kindle Fire HD instead of my mobile.

We’ve been comping for over forty years. When we first started we had to solve puzzles, write slogans or limericks and send off labels as proof of purchase. In recent years this type of competition has been thin on the ground and since 2008 when we won some shopping vouchers, prizes have been sparse, too. I signed up to Prizefinder earlier this year and March has seen a change in fortune. From a shopping trolley complete with handy seat from a Mature Times competition to a Malteaster bunny from Tesco and a Danepak fridge magnet there have been a number of little surprises this month. A couple of crafting prizes from different crafting titles should keep me busy in any spare time from comping and when we want to sit and relax there is the DVD of all the episodes of Above Suspicion to watch, especially welcome as missed the last series. Entering more comps in less time has certainly paid dividends.

  • My March wins

I think March has been my best month to date. I've won:

    2 Funky Giraffe bandana bibs
A pair of boys under-trouser tights
    MUA lipstick
    Hotel Chocolat Easter egg
    Cosmetics goody bag
    Maybelline lipgloss & nail polish
    Make up bag
    Scarf
    Bracelet & necklace
    5 Imperial Leather shower gels
    Cosatto Moon Unit Travel cot
£30 Etsy voucher for a handmade baby clothing store
    GOSH Boombastic mascara
    Kids book & activity book
    Handmade earrings
    Another necklace
    Frankenweenie goodies
    Nuby brush and comb set.

No real 'huge' wins but I'm so happy. Especially with the travel cot! Thanks TPF!!

  • Non stop winning

It's been another fantastic month with 30 wins - hampers, necklaces, DVD's and beauty items. Most of them were from Rafflecopters and blogs. They take a little more effort but are really worth it as the entries are lower. My best wins this month are a £40 food hamper from kettle chips Facebook page. I had to state what would go best with their recipe and to be honest I did a spur of the moment flavour. I also won £100 spa vouchers on a safety solutions blog saying which was the best mothers day present I ever got. I think there was around 15 entries just because of a little effort. I'm going in a couple of weeks with the MIL so wish me luck! lol xx

  • Green People Organic skincare win

    Monday, April 1, 2013

I thought that comps were staged and that no one ever won anything. But then I found ThePrizeFinder, which is an amazing source for finding and entering competitions. I signed up for ThePrizeFinder around mid January and gave myself 3 months, before I would go back to my initial thought that - comps are fake and I never win anything!

On 26th February I got and email from Goodtoknow stating I had won something. I literally screamed the house down and was delighted to be able to state with confidence, "comps are not fake, I won something".

I won a vita min fix 24 hour cream and fruit scrub exfoliator from green people. It's organic which is awesome.

I plan to focus on one product from now on (based on Di’s blog advice) and enter until I win.

  • A fruity month

March has been a very quiet month on the prize front despite entering lots! I can only reason that I’ll be getting a few nice surprises in April fingers crossed.

This month I got lucky twice on the Bear Nibbles facebook page where you spin the wheel and see if you get a prize. I got two vouchers for a packet of Bear Nibbles fruit rolls which I have cashed in at my local Sainburys and they are yummy so no complaints.

The other prize to add to my list this month is a pair of tickets to the North East Baby and Toddler Show. It was great to get these as I was planning on going to the event anyway so it was nice to treat my friend to free entry also.

I haven’t entered many effort competitions recently so my strategy will be to concentrate on those for the coming month and see if it brings me some better luck.

  • Something's Cooking

    Friday, March 29, 2013

I have been comping for a few months now, and have been lucky enough to bag a few small wins. This month I was extra lucky and won a runners up prize in a Le Creuset Facebook comp, snagging this lovely casserole. I have always coveted Le Creuset kitchenware, so I'm very chuffed indeed. I chose my prize in Marseille blue, to add a touch of the Mediterranean to my kitchen! Now if I could only add a touch of the Mediterranean to my cooking...:)

Thanks Prizefinder for all the comps and great advice! X

I have been reading these winners stories all month and they really helped me stick with it. I hope this story does the same for others. People really do win! THANKS PRIZEFINDER X X

I entered into a baking competition on Facebook in February, with my home made cup cake recipe, and low and behold I WON !
The Baking hamper contains, all sugar from McKinneys own brand.....
    Granulated sugar
    Caster sugar
    Icing sugar
    Royal icing
    Demerara sugar
    Rich dark brown sugar
    Light golden brown sugar
    Icing bag.....no sugar :-)
    Red heart cutters
    Baking cups
    Egg splitter
    Gingerbread cutters family set
    3 tier cake stand.
As soon as i got it home, the packing was ripped off and a batch of lemon and lime..with a dark chocolate sprinkle in the mix cakes are now waiting to be eaten this evening.
And all I can say is.... Any one fancy a cake?!
Rather chuffed with my prize from McKinneys. I actually thought it was going to be a small parcel.
So my thanks again to ThePrizefinder team for making this possible, and keep up the tremendous job you are all doing :-)
