Get Lost in a Good Book (or 10!) - WIN £50 Amazon Voucher (CLOSED)

Hello again everyone!  Well we did it, we survived the summer holidays – woohoo!  Seriously, I did really enjoy having the children home for the summer, but by the end of August bickering between them was starting to set in, and the juggling required to manage working from home, running the house and the kids was getting to a level that a circus performer would struggle to keep up with!  My eldest went back to school last week (Year 4, big girl now), and my youngest starts in Reception class today – very exciting times!  How was your summer?  Are you, like me, secretly glad to have a bit of normality back, or would you happily have summer all year round?

The children will no doubt be very tired for the next few weeks, adjusting to life back at school.  This means we can have some nice quiet after-school sessions catching up on a few movies and some good books.  I might even be able to read some of the eBooks I have stored on the iPad for myself – I download them all the time, but never seem to get chance to read them!  How about you?  Do you have a favourite reading time or spot?  Do you like to read in the bath when you get some “me time”?  Are you a bed-reader?  Would a £50 Amazon voucher help to increase your library of hard-copy books or eBooks?  I thought it would!  Well, to celebrate Agatha Christie Week (14-21 September 2014) and Roald Dahl Day (13th September 2014) here at The Prizefinder we are offering our lovely members the opportunity to win £50 of Amazon vouchers, for you to spend on whatever you like, in our exclusive competition!  You could treat yourself to a whole book-shelf of books, or several MBs of eBooks, how about some eBooks or paperbacks for the children, maybe some Christmas stories to squirrel away – the choice is yours!  All you need to do to enter is comment on this blog and let me know what your favourite book of all time is!  For me it is a tough choice – I love old historical fiction and non-fiction like Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, Little House on the Prairie etc.  But I think my go-to book has to be Pride & Prejudice – must have read it 100 times, and it still feels like a comforting blanket and a bowl of homemade stew in book-form every time I read it.  Entries close at 23:59 on Sunday 14th September 2014, and you need to be a registered member and logged into your account to enter.  So, give it some thought, and drop me a comment below – I am looking forward to reading all your great book suggestions!

Happy comping everyone, lots of Lucky Dust to you all!

Kirsty x

Jamaica Inn by Daphne Du Maurier - I first read it many years ago and I've never found a book that captures the atmosphere and imagination like it since.

Undomestic Goddness = Sophie Kinsella is absolutely brilliant and an hilarious read. And I seemed to recognise myself a lot in her character! mmm!

Goodnight Mr Tom by Michelle Magorian. A fab story that's both impossible to put down and which has that 'one more read' appeal :)
