WIN a £50 Amazon voucher!

Here's a great new competition especially for registered PrizeFinder members – you could win a £50 Amazon voucher just by telling us about the BEST prize you've ever won in a competition!

I'll start by telling you about my best ever prize - it was a VW Beetle which I won in a slogan competition way back in 2002. I'd only been entering 'purchase necessary' tiebreaker competitions for a couple of years and this was a BIG purchase – to enter, you had to buy a Zanussi washing machine and send off a copy of your receipt with the entry form. As if by magic, my ten year old washer actually broke down a few days after I spotted the competition - I took that as a sign I should enter and bought the washer on a year's interest free credit. I spent ages on my slogan which I must admit, wasn't one of my best efforts – but you never know what the judges are looking for!

"I like to wash my clothes in a Zanussi because…
From winter woolies to skimpy underwear,
Zanussi technology is programmed to care"

…and a couple of months later I got the Winning Telephone Call from Electrolux to say I'd won the car! I was over the moon - I'd always wanted a Beetle, and even when they made me sit on a washing machine outside my local Currys store for the local newspaper photographer I didn't mind.

I've won lots of amazing prizes since then, but I really loved that car - it will take an incredible prize to top that!

And so - now we want to hear about YOUR best prize. It might be the most valuable prize you've won, or a proper money-can't-buy experience. Maybe it was a toy that your child really wanted - or was your very first prize the most special? Leave a comment here on this blog post telling us what the prize was and what made it so special, and one winner will be chosen at random to win a £50 Amazon voucher.

Your comment won't appear here immediately as we have moderation set up on the blog, but as long as it's received before 12 midnight on Sunday 30 September 2012 it will count!

2. Entrants must be registered PrizeFinder users and logged in to their account – anonymous comments won't be included in the draw

I won my first prize in 1987 and I was hooked. Then I discovered Internet competitions and was over the moon when in 2000 I won a three night stay for 2 in Paris. We had a fantastic time in this lovely city and I consider this my most enjoyable prize to date.

the best prize that I won was £5,000 worth of Thomas Cook Vouchers which meant that we could afford to go to Florida in style. It was the most amazing holiday ever. One that I would never had I known about if it wasn't for Theprizefinder.com.

One of my passions is handbags and prior to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, I saw a comp to win an evening bag by Dents. It was in 3 colours – red, white and blue, obviously – and each was decorated by self-coloured crystals in the design of a Union Jack. I spent hours agonising over which one I would like to win - I loved the blue one but, since I don’t go to many ‘posh dos’ these days, my one and only long dress is black and white, so a red (I wear it with red strappy shoes) or white would be ideal. In fact, being practical red would be best in case I spilt my wine over it! In any event, winners didn’t have a choice so it was pointless even thinking about it, but still I could dream. Imagine my surprise a few weeks later when I heard I had won – and a few days later the blue bag arrived!
I later found out that I had won a dress from Dorothy Perkins. I had chosen a lovely three coloured day dress but was informed later that it was out of stock and that I should chose another. I found a lovely navy maxi dress – ideal to match my handbag. To top it off I received an unexpected invitation to a wedding and proudly wore my winning attire!
I may not be winning 'biggies' any more but it shows comping can be just as exciting as it was back in the 70s.

My best win has got to be an 11" Macbook air which I won from a video comp with BUPA earlier this year. It was the first video como I had entered and it was a simple idea that was put together quite quickly and entered at the last minute. I was absolutely delighted to get an email saying I had won. It has been greatly used -and fought over- by everyone in the family. It was especially significant for me because it was the first time I had felt confident enough to allow myself to be on a video.

I'm unbelievably lucky to have just come back from a £5k holiday to South Africa, including flights for 2, 4 nights in Cape Town, 3 nights in the winelands and 3 nights on safari in Kruger National Park.

I loved it all (who wouldn't?), but especially the safari. We stayed in the poshest place I'll probably ever stay in and saw fab views of elephants, rhinos, leopards, buffaloes, hippos, crocs, hyenas, wild dogs etc etc.

It was a competition with 2by2holidays, an African travel company. You had to say how the safari would make you feel different. I made a video of South African pics and sang my own version of 'The Animals Went in 2by2'. It seemed to be enough to convince the judges to pick me.

The bar on competition wins is now set very high!

Hi

This is my first post but ive been on the site for a while! My best prize ever was a holiday to Kenya but that was years ago! Considering the amount of entries I do I don't win that many any more but this year I have won a visit to Cirque de Soleil with the Metro and after feeling fed up not having won anything all year I won 2 tickets to the Masterchef pop up restaurant with £50 bar tab and tasting menu. Its these occasional wins that keep you going! Last year I won £1000 with Kiss FM

I know what you mean, I've been comping for 4 years and have won a total of 7 prizes to date, nothing big unfortunately. I got a book, a cupcake set, a shower gel, a cheese plate, a £10 voucher, a cooking sauce and a lunch box. From what I gather, this is what some people here win every week on average! For me, that lunch box was the first and so far the only win this year. I enter around 500 comps a week so it's really hard to stay motivated with such poor results :-(
