WIN a £50 Amazon voucher!

Here's a great new competition especially for registered PrizeFinder members – you could win a £50 Amazon voucher just by telling us about the BEST prize you've ever won in a competition!

I'll start by telling you about my best ever prize - it was a VW Beetle which I won in a slogan competition way back in 2002. I'd only been entering 'purchase necessary' tiebreaker competitions for a couple of years and this was a BIG purchase – to enter, you had to buy a Zanussi washing machine and send off a copy of your receipt with the entry form. As if by magic, my ten year old washer actually broke down a few days after I spotted the competition - I took that as a sign I should enter and bought the washer on a year's interest free credit. I spent ages on my slogan which I must admit, wasn't one of my best efforts – but you never know what the judges are looking for!

"I like to wash my clothes in a Zanussi because…
From winter woolies to skimpy underwear,
Zanussi technology is programmed to care"

…and a couple of months later I got the Winning Telephone Call from Electrolux to say I'd won the car! I was over the moon - I'd always wanted a Beetle, and even when they made me sit on a washing machine outside my local Currys store for the local newspaper photographer I didn't mind.

I've won lots of amazing prizes since then, but I really loved that car - it will take an incredible prize to top that!

And so - now we want to hear about YOUR best prize. It might be the most valuable prize you've won, or a proper money-can't-buy experience. Maybe it was a toy that your child really wanted - or was your very first prize the most special? Leave a comment here on this blog post telling us what the prize was and what made it so special, and one winner will be chosen at random to win a £50 Amazon voucher.

Your comment won't appear here immediately as we have moderation set up on the blog, but as long as it's received before 12 midnight on Sunday 30 September 2012 it will count!

Terms and Conditions

1. Open to UK residents aged 18 or over
2. Entrants must be registered PrizeFinder users and logged in to their account – anonymous comments won't be included in the draw
3. Only one entry per person
4. The winner will be chosen at random.
5. The closing date is 30th September 2012.
6. Entrants will be notified by email within 7 days of the closing date and the £50 Amazon voucher will be sent via email

I haven't been comping long but so far the best prize I have won is a yetitoy, ride on from Prince Lionheart - I entered a competition to name their new doggy ride on toy and I suggested Fido.
I don't have small children so have donated my prize to a charity close to my heart FAN Families against Neuroblastoma to raffle at the opening of their new shop - since I lost our eldest son in 2005 to Neuroblastoma xx

My best prize is a family holiday to Morocco including a 4 night desert safari. I won it a year ago but due to my eldest taking her GCSE's we're taking it next month and we're all so excited. It's a holiday we would never have booked so it'll definitely be an experience!

Sometimes the best prizes are the ones that break the dry spells - even if it's a bag of crisps or a KitKat, it puts a smile on your face doesn't it!

This sounds like a fabulous prize! I'd love to know what the three winning questions were (not that they would mean much to me!!)

Good questions!

And yes, there are LOADS of us addicted to comps. I can think of worse things to be addicted to though!

The best prize I've ever won has to be a 3 night trip to Zurich. My husband and I never get to go away so this was amazing. We had tickets to see Usain Bolt in the Athletics as well as great hotel accommodation and free transport around Zurich. Here's to many more!

My best prize was a skiing holiday for me and my husband and our 3 kids. It was amazing. We had our own chef and 2 nannies and loads of snow!! 2 of our kids are under 3 so they had a nanny 8.30 - 4.30 and went on the cable cars, sledging, snowman making, on play dates, did arts and crafts, went on the village bus and the little train. Our other child is 10 and he skiied all day. He had a driver and a nanny to get him to his lessons. He was fantastic. And I particularly liked the bar at the top of the mountain!

(I've entered this comment twice because I'd forgotten to log in first! Duh!)

My best prize is my Samsung S3. I think its worth about £600.

This is what I had to do to win:

Question: What would you ask the Samsung S3?

My answer: Who discovered you could milk cows, and what did they think they were doing at the time?

There were thousands of entries and when I found out I'd won I was so shocked! The worrying bit is that they had notified me by email and I'd somehow missed it. I only found out when they sent the email that said "You have until 5pm to claim it before we pass it on to second place".

I now scrutinise every email and have them go to my phone also!

The best competition I've ever won - well I won a trip to San Francisco and Los Angeles last year with the Sun, and felt a bit guilty as I never read the paper but won the holiday by answering a ridiculously easy question on their website! Was an amazing trip though and one I won't forget in a hurry! However I think this may be eclipsed by one I've just found out I've won - a trip to ANTARCTICA next November worth £10,000! Can't wait for that, now that really will be an unforgettable experience!

The best prize i won was a huge hamper of Redken hair care products a few weeks back! I was feeling really under the weather that day, so it was a lovely surprise when the huge box arrived! I couldn't believe it, and i still feel blessed. My comping goal for this year is to win a holiday (either in the UK or abroad), that would just be the icing on the cake, and the i could show off my gorgeous locks!

So lovely reading everyone's answers - some great prizes and experiences there.

Think my favourite was also my worst nightmare - a trolley dash! We had a choice of three shops and chose Threshers. We were a bit devastated that the only date available was the same day as one of my best friends got married but we managed to get there in time to see her walk out of the church and presented her and her new husband with a very nice bottle of champagne hot off the shelves!

I think my best prize was probably from a competition on Ticketmaster, where I won tickets to the opera, a case of Champagne and a trip for 2 to Paris all from the same prize. It was my first big win, so very exciting, and still remains the only holiday I've ever won ten years later.

The best prize I've ever won was back in 2006, when, at 12 years old, my taste in music was not yet matured or very good, for that matter. I received 'The Acoustic Album' double compilation CD through the post, and at that moment, I was captivated. From modern singers like Corinne Bailey Rae and Jack Johnson to the old classics of Nick Drake and Cat Stevens, this CD has it all. Twelve years later, this anthology of beautiful acoustic tunes is still deeply embedded in my mind, and in my personal collection for listening to when I need cheering up or just for relaxing with friends.

Ok, so i'm the unluckiest person in the world, no seriously I really am! ive been comping on and off for about 3 years and never had any success really but I am totally addicted to it and I find it extremely difficult to bypass a comp when I see one just incase its the one im destined to win LOL. I realised im better at comps which hold an element of skill, be it sending a pic, poem or creative ideas so I joined mindbubble and had some good success with them, Amazon voucher £10 to start n that was the boost, then i think it was £100 cheque happy days! then my biggest was an ipad when they had just come out, I won that for helping weetabix with new marketing ideas and I was so chuffed about it.I would have loved to have kept itbut :( unfortunatley we suffered financial hardship that year and my son was desperate for a PS3 for christmas. all I thought about was selling it to buy him one and so I did because kids come first Its all gone down hill since then as mindbubble disappeard after that, im not sure if they are up and running again but now ive come to mention it I may go google and see, fingers crossed lol x

My best prize was a trip for 2 families to Lapland. It was a game you had to play and get the top score. I am normally rubbish at games but managed to play this well. My husband felt I was rather obsessed but it was worth it! When they rang it turned out that the day trip was full so they sent us all to Lapland for 5 days instead! Fantastic!

I've been entering competitions for coming up to a year and have won a few small prizes. The biggest value prize was a years supply of Hershey's chocolate through the Asda facebook page. We've amazingly still got some left which is quite surprising given the chocoholics (including 2 kids) in the house.

My favourite prize though has to be one I've recently won. A copy of a book to commemorate 50 years of the Rolling Stones which has been signed by the band. A fabulous book which will make a good heirloom for my girls.

My best prize was my first, which inadvertently got me into comping.
I had used my visa card and received a phone call to say I'd won an all expenses trip for 4 to Disneyland Paris.
These were my days before children and it would have been wasted on my husband to be and I.
So I asked if I could transfer the names.
My sister, brother in law and 2 nephews gained from this win. They had the most amazing time.
I now have 2 girls of my own and keep trying to win another one. No luck so far...!
I've been lucky winning competitions for lots of experiences I wouldn't otherwise have.
But I'd still love another Disneyland win!

I nearly didn't receive my best prize so far!
I had a phonecall to say I'd won a gorgeous leather double bed. On the day it was to be delivered, I had a call from the delivery men saying they were five minutes away....Twenty minutes later, I was jumping up and down with impatience when I happened to look out of my upstairs window and spotted some delivery men knocking on a door across my road, with a huge bed in tow....I rushed outside only to find they had got my address wrong!! Thank goodness it was down the road and not a few miles away... I might have had to kiss that prize goodbye! Grrrrr

I have been comping for almost a year so far and won lots of great small prizes, however I had my best win a couple of months back: A 3 night trip to Belgium for 2 - staying in 5* hotels and with lots of yummy food included!

Me and my husband hope to take the trip in October - it will be a nice break as we have two small children so haven't had a break away just the two of us for a while!

That's an amazing prize! It reminds me of a comp I won around the same time with Ottakars bookshop - an online riddle released every week for a month, you had to phone up and be the first with the solution! I won a 3 week Lord of the Rings trip to New Zealand and £1000 - a dream come true!
