Submitted by tpf_kirsty on Mon, 2015-12-28 11:38

Hello everyone!  How are you all doing with January comps; anything nice to report?  Here we are with the next Lucky New Year 2016 daily competition.  Once again we have another £10 Amazon voucher up for grabs and this time we want to hear your best comping tips.  To enter you need to be a registered PrizeFinder member and logged into your account to leave me a comment with your tips.  My best tip is to be selective and patient – believe you will win and don’t be disheartened when it doesn’t happen overnight.  You have until 23:59 tonight (3rd January 2016) so get your thinking caps on!

Don’t forget that every entry you make into the daily Lucky New Year competitions gets you one entry into the Grand Prize Draw for £100!

I look forward to reading all your entries.

Happy comping everyone, and lots of Lucky dust to you all!

Kirsty x

Roboform or form filler - saves so much time and is not considered to be bulk entries. Some people said that they felt that using an autofill disqualified you - my evidence is that it actually doesn't make any difference and if the site does not want you to use autofill then it will simply not accept your entry until you type it out yourself.

I have a rule that I only enter if I genuinely want the prize. Build your confidence (for me, this is the creative comps) and give different types of comps a go - you never know it has to be fruitful for someone! thanks

I have favourite sites and will do a search for the whole month and enter each en block, it always amazes me how many I have missed

Always read the terms and conditions. No point entering a competition if you know you can't get the time off work to use the prize or if you have to collect the prize and you live on the other side of the country

Check your spellings. Email addresses, phone numbers etc as I learnt yesterday from the Twitter comp with a bounce back entry.

Variation is the key for me - I try to enter a variety of comps each month - some Facebook - some Twitter - some web based and also a few of the daily comps (with these I look for prizes I want to win and make a list of the sites they on and try to enter until the closing date ) - you can't enter everything but a few from each catagory type is good and has served me well since I started comping just over a year ago

Only enter a competition if you want to win the prize on offer. For example only enter to win tickets to a show if you or a friend can definitely attend. It would, of course, help if the prize donor gave a few weeks notice!

My best comping tip is to make your comments interesting and different by being funny! If they're asking for your New Year's Resolution, instead of saying 'get fit and exercise', say 'stop stuffing my face with chips and get off my butt more!'
Promoters are more likely to pick a winner that makes them laugh.

Always read the rules to ensure you qualify to enter and ensure you do not miss the deadline by entering ahead of the closing date. Competitions sometimes close earlier than the closing date given.

my top tip: enter even if it's just one that you want to win and you have little time to spare. Make the day and time this year count.

It has to be be persistent, even when you are going through a dry patch. I've been having a really bad run in recent months, despite many hours each day spent comping... I continue because I see so many things I really want to win, and unless I try, I can't possibly win them.

Good luck to all for a very successful 2016 :) x

My best comping tip is to dream about what you wish to win. I have been comping for a long time and I still dream of opening an email telling me about my round the world trip! Sometimes dreams come true...

Move with the times in the ever-changing world of Comping! Enter creative competitions (photos/videos) on FaceBook, Twitter & Instagram. These are lower entry as effort is required and really make you put your 'thinking-cap' on in order to come with something different. If you win. your prize is usually posted out within the week! :)

Take your time to find and enter competitions for items you really want to win, rather than everything that pops up. If its an effort comp "Slogan/Picture/etc" and you having time until the closing date sleep on it rather than entering just anything in a rush, think about your entry and look at entries already submitted to help you be more creative.

Make a list of all the things you want to win, and enter just those. Rather than wasting your time entering lots of competitions for things you really don't want

My Best comping tip is to only enter competitions were you actually want to win the prize for yourself or as a present for a family member or friend otherwise you will take far to long entering for prizes you do not really want and will probably go to waste

My best tip is one given to me and I found it really useful. If short on time & haven't ng a busy day - set a target of 10 quick to enter competitions - usually Twitter or FB. At least you manage some comping in a short space of time. I have won quite a few Twitter prizes this way.

I've been comping for 30+ years and have won an amazing amount of prizes and wonderful experiences. My tip would be to keep going even if you are not winning your time will come, and that winning wem, lwe, phone call can just happen out of the blue and tell you of a lovely win. Enter local comps as they attract a lot less entries. I also recommend keeping emails, winning letters, photos they are great way to boost morale by looking through them if you are hitting that lean spell. We all go through it and there are more than enough prizes to go round for us all. Keep at it.

Have fun! At the end of the day it's a hobby, not a job. Enter the kind of competitions you like to enter, and don't take it too seriously.

Check your local magazines/newspapers. These tend to have lower entries and therefore more chance of winning!

Don't stress about entering every competition going, set a certain time of day ( I do evening after tea) and just enter ones that you like, for as long/little amount of time as you like without being disturbed. Oh and don't forget a nice cup of coffee and some biscuits while your doing it :-)

My tip is to make sure you enter all your local competitons (eg those run by local shopping centres, restaurants, hotels etc) as there is a much smaller number of people entering and you're more likely to win: it worked for me. I won over £400 of gift cards for restaurants and shops in a competition my local shopping mall ran.

My best comping Tip is to enter Local newspaper comps as they attract less entries than national comps and are easier to win!
