Share Your September Wins

Submitted by MWilkins on Mon, 2014-09-01 08:08

Hello again everyone! How in the world is it September already? Only 5 minutes ago it was July, and we were all getting excited about the summer months and making plans! Now the weather is starting to turn, the children are going back to school and even the TV scheduling is on the turn – for the better! Secretly I am quite pleased that summer is over with for now, we all had a lovely time but it is time to regain some normality. I love autumn – lots of great new TV programmes, the children in smart new school uniforms, lots of yummy cooler-weather food to be eaten and everyone is so much more comfortable at bed-time. In comping terms, August was pretty much a wash out for me until the final week. By 24th August I had only won 9 prizes, but by the end of the month this had risen to 16, so not too bad after all – still my quietest month this year though. Here is a run down of my wins:

  • 6  x Wins on the Happy Egg Co Bee Happy instant win
  • Some Harvest Chewee Bars, from their Facebook caption contes
  • Some Loom bands and accessories, from a local competition on Facebook (was a runners up prize for helping them with the comp
  • A surprise set of Pantene Age Defy shampoo and Conditioner from SuperSavvyMe
  • A hand-painted glass tea light holder, from a multi-page Facebook comp
  • A refill notebook, from Oxford Notebooks on Twitter
  • 2 x Rubicon backpacks, on their instant win comp
  • An Arm & Hammer tote bag, from their Facebook instant win comp
  • £40 Allfancydress.com voucher, from a blog comp
  • Another Models Own gift set, from the Echo Falls instant win on facebook

As you can see, my August wins are nothing to write home about – if it weren’t for the instant wins and dailies, I wouldn’t have much to report!  All will be used though – the chewee bars will make it into lunchboxes, I have already started using the haircare products, and the children love the loom bands.  I will buy an outfit each for my girls with the fancy dress voucher, and will put them away for Christmas.  I don’t know yet what the Happy Egg prizes are, as they won’t be despatched until the end of the comp at the end of September.  They are giving away seeds, tea towels, activity packs and gardening vouchers though, so could be any mix of those I guess.  I can’t complain about my lack of wins though, as I really didn’t put much effort in over August – far too many other nice things going on, to be spending too much time comping.

I know from reading the blog comments though that some of you have been much luckier than me this month, so let’s see how you all got on.

lindowal won 3 lovely Spode mugs in their Facebook comp, angelkell won an iPad Mini in the Pricerunner tablet wars comp on Facebook, sashfra99 has had a good month winning young drivers’ driving lessons from the Jewish News, a place at a summer school doing music production, and a fab makeover and Benefit cosmetics bundle including travel and hotel stay in London from the House of Fraser facebook comp, gorts17 had a surprise £50 beauty hamper arrive, gymchick76 won tickets for the Northern Ireland open with Costcutter, loulou1806 won a month’s supply of face masks for submitting their face mask recipe,  and jeanette1 bagged herself some wins from Happy Egg and Higgidy as well as a Dolce Gusto coffee machine and 2 boxes of After Eights from their Facebook competition.

The novelty prizes of choice this month seem to have come from Hooch, with lots of you winning coasters, moustache bottle toppers, keyrings and t-shirts – including 01zesty01, sloopy123 and lish2013.  My favourite prize this month was won by joanneminky, who snagged the prize offered by Shaw Spencer Furniture on Facebook – £1,000 of furniture!  Awesome prize, well done!

Let us all know how you get on with September’s comps by commenting below with your wins.  Don’t forget to upload a photo of your wins too for a chance to win a £50 voucher here.  What’s on your Wish List at the moment?  I am starting to get Christmas bits put by (loving all the early Christmas comps), but am also on the look-out for Chessington tickets (hoping to take the children in the half term, as we didn’t manage it this summer), a scooter for my youngest, a laptop for my husband and still waiting for that first ever elusive holiday win!  Hubby and I would love a night away on our own to London, so that’s what I am focusing on at the moment!

I look forward to hopefully being able to share a few more of my own wins next month, and to reading all about yours!  Happy comping everyone, lots of Lucky Dust to you all!

Kirsty x

I won two books , a cookery class and six months of sparkling fruit juice last month, so my luck seems to be in! But I have a question, if you enter a comp and after the entry confirmation there is also a space to leave a comment, is it necessary to leave a begging message like "please! Please! Me" or "great comp, hope it is me". I would love to hear if promoters take these into account or not.
